Looked like Jonathan Rosery was up with the 2nd team early today. He looked real nice in Monday's pre-season game.

I am worried about the start of the season given how injuries are piling up. I expect to be frustrated about some of the cuts. I suspect to be mad about roster decisions. I'd like this on file now for future reference.

I think they'll stick with the 3 DT rotation again this year, 2 Natl's and 1 Import, take your pick which one they keep, one other stashed on the PR learning the ropes.    

seeing as we coud conceivably not even have to field a started at DT being a Canadian would make way more sense, and we would be better served and stronger to have 2 import DT's who are impactful and a Canadian back up to both for rest/ and injury replacement and fill out the canadian component of the roster....now....big question is...what route does the Coach take, and has he learned from past how skimping on the dline via it be with the talent available, or the mumber in rotation has hurt us badly

I 100 percent expect a guy or two who stood out and could really develop into something will get his pink slip...and we will keep an incumbant...or a player that doesnt serve us well on the PR...because thats what we consistently do for yrs....and 2024 likely ends in a similar....yet different fashion of dissapointment which would be totally avoidable...I hope otherwise...but based on the past....and now some these injuries....I will expect more the ame until I see a reason not to

Ford at CB and Kramdi at LB = 2 Canadian starters = we don't have to start a Canadian DT.

and we dont even have to start both....personally I would let Clericus be the 5th WR and start 7 on offence, and go all import on defense.....start Ford as I believe he a baller but not declre an Nat on the defensive side

Unlikely scenario, you know nothing like that will happen as it negates continuity and chemistry, 3 DT's in rotation is adequate, probably Fox, Schmeckle and Jake to start the season with another import on the PR.  Haba and Garbutt taking over from Jeffcoat with an import DE hopefully developing on the PR.

The conspiracy theorist in me would like to believe that we 6 gamed Miller to be an assistant coach last year, and that we are doing the same with Biggie this year, but there is that little pesky rule that 6 gamed players can only attend the building for the purposes of medical and are not allowed to be on the practice field or in team meetings during that time. Naturally there are some pretty easy ways to circumvent some of that, but unfortunately not a whole lot.

Don’t think Kramdi will start. I think it’ll be Cole at Sam. But with ford, 3 ol, rb, 2 wrs we will be ok. As long as Brady is ok

I think Kramdi likely rotates in and out with Cole starting as well.

Yeah given that some linebackers showed well in preseason one I'd bet Cole is Sam and we get wilson/whoever at the other spot.

My two cents are this for week one. I believe barring further injuries that will be our starting D-line as Fatty listed or very close, and as GCn20 listed Cole/Kramdi being 1a/1b. Kramdi IMO will probably "listed" as the starter.

People like to point to the Jeffcoats or Schoens as evidence that this regime isn't afraid to insert rookies when they show well enough. I often wonder though, if either of those guys had been blocked by an aging veteran (or inferior Canadian) instead of competing for a spot that happened to be open, would we have ever uncovered them? Like if Walters had re-signed Adams, does Dalton end up lighting it up for another team after being cut in training camp?

I don’t get the argument at all, to be honest. People use an open competition with no veteran incumbents to suggest young guys can beat out veterans. It’s a weird take.

Anyone know the nature of all of these injuries? I would assume the new turf isn't to blame since a bunch seemed to happen before camp, and Lawson's happened on the road.

how does playing 2 import DT's negate continuity?...with whom?....You play WJ/HABA/lets say Garbutt..Fox/Lets say Woods....and toss in Schmeckle as he the only viable Canadian available to us now who has possible upside and isnt a dead weight with none (Jake) how is that not continuity if you roll with that?

There is no reason for us to possibly start 3 Nats on defence now, with 6 on offence when we dont...or wont roster anyone to take advantage of the flexibility?...We should not start any more than 8 Canadians at most right now....even that isn't really doing anything to make us better in all truthfuness

I can't think of one player in this regime in last 4..5 yrs who came in and pushed a vet out of his starting spot, and off the roster...even our pluggers who only saw work on teams were never really ousted either....corret me if I am wrong, but save for when there was absolutely nobody returning at a position nobody new has ever been rewarded with a spot...

Are lots of you guys going down to camp to watch cuz last week the big topic was how coverage is so poor that we don’t know what’s going on. I’m not trying to start anything here. Perhaps a bit of a devils advocate post tho but how could you be upset with cuts if we don’t get any coverage? Are we basing this on 1 pre season game that was streamed online with basically zero replays or even a decent camera position? Just wondering. Cuz reality is guys who stood out maybe weren’t doing what their actual assignment was. We don’t know because we aren’t told anything. This is all based on tweets by Derek Taylor I guess? Cuz I don’t see much in the papers or online about any of the new guys really.

Has nothing to do with any of that. I’m sensing I’ll be frustrated with the cuts because they’ll lean heavily ignorant of the issues plaguing our roster. We’ll lose some talented players who could develop into impact starters in order to keep good foot soldiers who try hard.

That...or we may keep some....but won't see the roster due to the afore mentioned hard trying foot soldiers...who have no business as starters or heavy use rotation pieces...

Anybody who has followed the club the past number of years can see MOS values hardworking Canadian foot soldiers and guys he locks in on as key despite obvious drawbacks (See Jake starting, Briggs getting defensive reps last year, Sam Hurl, Kuale, Roc Carmichel, Hecht, Jackson)
