WildPath Posted May 29 Report Posted May 29 Looking to take my 3 year old son to his first Bombers experience by taking him to see some TC this week. I don't think his attention span would make it worth bringing him to a game yet. My question - would it be better to take him to a normal practice or the walkthrough on Thursday? Thursday might work better for our schedule, but I'm concerned walkthrough wouldn't provide much excitement for a rookie Bomber fan. Dodge and Burn 1

Personally i don't think it matters, any experience for your child and less stress for you schedule wise works. A regular training camp practice can be boring as well for a lot of fans. 😊 ddanger and WildPath 2
Eternal optimist Posted May 29 Report Posted May 29 They'll have fun either way. Took my 5 yr old to fan fest and she loved it. Pretty sure she thinks when my wife and I go to a game we just run around on inflateable obstacle courses for 3 hours. Rod Black, Super Duper Negatron, bb1 and 5 others 8
ShyGuy Posted May 29 Report Posted May 29 Picked up my season ticket package today and my kids Gold Club package for their 5 game pack... was kind of surprised that they each got a pair of free tickets for the preseason game. Was going to add that game anyways but the fact you can use those tickets ANYWHERE is pretty neat. They've been agitating about wanting to sit down in the lower bowl so now they finally can. The nice thing about receivers and DBs is that the bulk of their assessment can come from actual TC sessions. With little contact allowed it must be extremely tough to make decisions in the trenches or at LBer. Receiver and DBs can get a much better assessment in TC. 12 hours ago, Booch said: I'd give the starters 2..maybe 3 series with ZC and then park them..they already know the playbook and system and just need a few reps to knock of the rust and recalibrate the timing at game speed Some the excess db's and wr are more for looks at returner now as opposed to the #5 spot...I think it's a final audition for Wilson..Mitchell..Johnson and Vann for that 5 spot. I think Smith is the likely front runner for the return job and offensive Swiss army knife...especially if BO is not 100 percent..or they may want to ease him in...Smith offers just too much versatility to ignore...and is prob one the most explosive guys in camp...hope we go that route Smith certainly goes north/south in the return game which is good and yea he can man a few spots in a pinch. Receiver? I'm not sure if even the coaches know right now....it's there for the taking if someone steps up and takes it I think. wbbfan 1
Booch Posted May 29 Report Posted May 29 For the amount of balls they are gonna see with Lawler/Schoen/Demski/BO and Woli in the offence I not seeing it as a super vital spot anyway...I hope we use it to roster a huge upside guy....someone who can really rip the top off a defence actually....Something we havn't really had here in a long time. Yeah, the last guy they had like that was probably Lucky Whitehead. Grant was fast but more about lateral quickness, shiftiness and breaking tackles. I mean, Demski can be a deep threat for sure but no we haven’t really had that super speed demon wideout. A Lucky/Ryan Lankford type as the 5th receiver would be cool.

I liked Rasheed's usage in the run game and I could totally understand his value as a blocking receiver, but I too would prefer that we roster a receiver that can take the top off the defence in that position. Put the safety in a bind more often than we have been. This probably open up the seams a little more than we have been seeing in recent years too. Edited May 29 by GCn20 BomberBall. 1
Mike Posted May 29 Report Posted May 29 I think a combination of Myron Mitchell and Clercius dependent on what you need out there could be a productive use of that spot Noeller, Bigblue204 and blue85gold 3

A guy blocking his butt off is most likely to make the team but having a WR who can stretch the D deep would be great too. It's not nearly as likely, but if we had a guy with the stamina/toughness, a guy who could be a primary return man and start as the last wr would be huge. Saving a DI would be massive. Personally, I'd probably have some one like Ford and one of the rbs return kick offs, with the last WR returning punts to minimize wear. Then I'd DI Castillo, a DT, DE, and a lber. I'd be fine with Clercius, Murphy, and MCI as our back up WRs.

Isn't really a terrible pick among the imps. Doesn't seem like there is a schoen, but a lot of guys who would be dangerous with the ball in their hands. It's interesting, the majority of the imp wrs we have left on the roster for that last spot are not our typical wr. (6'1-6'3, 200-220 lbs, polished possession wr) They are mostly pretty light twitchy guys. As well as a KR, I think we are looking for some one who can be used in the jet motion package to take that load off demski a bit.

But I think Kramdi and karamoko will end up being back up dbs, with the healthy ish hallet + kelly and how ever S shakes down. OL we won't be running 3 imp ol imo, so DI's really come down to backs, wrs, dl, lbers and of course sergio has one spot locked up. The biggest area of need I see is kick cover. We need some killers on that squad. I'm hopeful the batch of imp Lbers will help with that. I don't know if he retired or what, but Carelton Agudosi would actually be a great fit for the last wr spot. He was really feast or famine as a WR, but as a big strong guy who can do a lot on teams, he'd be really valuable. Plus being a package guy for some Iso fade type plays. I'm sure he won't be in the picture but he could really fill a great niche for us. I would also consider rolling 6 OL, or an 11 formation with an end on the RTs side to help with blocking. Especially until the line meshes with all the changes. BigBlueFanatic and Piggy 1 2

There's not going to be much use for another. Saw that even with someone like Agudosi. Limited usefulness down the route tree and can't make a team. If they want speed it better be a guy who can be useful in intermediate and do something after the catch. JCon, HardCoreBlue, Piggy 1 and 1 other 3 1

Pete Posted May 29 Report Posted May 29 We do need a guy with potential to replace schoen or lawler if we can't afford both next year
Mike Posted May 29 Report Posted May 29 I don’t really think we need a playmaker out there. Block, find the soft spots in coverage, be sure handed and that’s all I really hope for. We’re talking about the fifth option in our offense at best here, right? Need those details more than I need a 1000 yard threat. Bubba Zanetti and Piggy 1 2
Pete Catan's Ghost Posted May 29 Report Posted May 29 There are also going to be games missed due to injury. I want much more from a 5th man than the ability to block
Bubba Zanetti Posted May 29 Report Posted May 29 A receiver that can block and take the top off would be ideal Eternal optimist 1

He will be much closer to demski and schoen salary. I'm not concerned with our ability to keep both next year.
Stickem Posted May 29 Report Posted May 29 Agudosi is a thought .....big rangy guy who is tough to cover...The only thing with Carelton is that he can't stay healthy....Too many nic's and probably the reason we let him go....I prefer a guy who can block as well as make those tough catches....

I think the 5th guy should be one who could in theory step up and fill in for Schoen or Lawler if they get hurt.

Is that necessarily the best thing for winning? I don’t really think it is.
