Vanterpool plays both iirc, they may want to get one imp G reps in case Nuef isn’t good to go. 1 minute ago, voodoochylde said: Or .. on the dawn of a new season .. the sports media can cover the most successful franchise this city has. The local sports news has a whole lot of nothing else to cover, and the most interesting tc in this teams great era to cover but instead does sweet fluff all. rebusrankin 1

Okay then go check them out tor yourself? Why is it a foreign concept to actually go support your team in person if you cared enough too instead of bitching and complaining about the media.

Yes assuming we wanted to do it bad enough, we could all make time to pursue that. But I suppose unlike you, some people have other priorities that trump certain activities. And gosh don't you know it'd be real nice if there was some kid of organization or individual etc etc that could head to those activities and either remember what they saw or take notes/videos etc and then share what they had with other people. I might even pay for that kind of time saving convenient (what should we call it...) "report". I understand that selling convenient things to people is a foreign concept. But I imagine eventually it will catch on. rebusrankin 1

Honestly though. If people actually remember "back in the day" when the reporters were all at practice and writing stories every day, none of us were satisified. We would sit here every day and complain that they weren't watching practice, they would still just type up whatever coaches were spewing during the interview portion. Don't try and re-write history now people. You were all just bragging about how long ya'll been on the forums, can't pretend things you were ever happy with media coverage. Bigblue204 1

It is one of the stupidest points I’ve seen anyone try and make on this forum. I support the team with season tickets, I save my time off all year to be able to make as many games as possible, I buy merchandise, I travel to watch away games. I’m working non-stop at the moment because I’ve got my first kid on the way and my work is busy as hell right now, so forgive me for not prioritizing something that we have paid reporters for. Noeller Posted May 19 Report Posted May 19 VAST majority of people don't care about the minutiae that most of us here care about. The fluff pieces draw the most clicks, otherwise they wouldn't be doing it that way. But obviously the best case scenario is a bit of both. Do some feature piece columns for people who just want that, and then have a bit of minutiae.... but it's also really hard when the team doesn't want you to have that information. Especially injury information. They won't give that out so there's not much to work with. Now, I don't really watch those Bonfire Sports things, but my UNDERSTANDING of it is that if you want more in depth information, Bauming is at least trying to give you that. A part of the problem is you have less reporters doing way more work now than they used to. Everyone is wearing 7 hats and covering several different beats from news to sports and everything in between. The days of a writer and then a camera man and then whoever else all going down to the stadium and their sole job is to cover the Bombers... are definitely over. The one guy who might be strictly responsible for Bombers coverage (and quite frankly he's done an okay job of coming on here and updating us) is Derek. And he's also updating his twitter with information from practice every day. Most other guys have to cover multiple things and the Bombers beat is just one small part of their job. Newsrooms getting gutted all over. I definitely feel for them. Tracker, BBlink, Pepper_Brooks and 1 other 3 1

Oh never mind missed 6 games. They’ve always had multiple beats, the Bombers are one but aren’t covered for news. And this is one of the slowest periods of sporting news. Go look at tc day 1 news for the jets. NHL, you’ll see 4 source articles with the type of break downs we used to see. So and so didn’t practice. This person got most of the reps at they position and looked how ever. Now good the ny jets tc day 1, 2 hour pre show.
