However you can't discount some of the losses that have happened because of roster usage issues. There's not many but they do exist. They're a good team, they could probably be better. They've had a lot of empty uniforms on the roster at various points

Honestly the biggest failing point of our coaching staff has been in the 2 gc loses. Not just in roster management, but in game plan, execution, adjustment and having the team ready to go at their best. And not many coaching staffs would survive 2 bad back to back GC loses.

Playing a guy out of position...instead of where he was one of top rated players in the nation at his position isn't being given a chance really

Just like Thomas is better than Fox..Woods...Adams...yup...OK

Kramdi better than Griffen...sure

Johnson better than ....well anyone

Mitchell on PR because?.

And that's just this yr

Adams worse than 6-7 other DL. Hallett is a rotational cover guy over griffin at times, holm over griffin, the entire DE debacle this year, tre thomas/dylan moses, johnny petrishen, joshua gremmel all cut for a bunch of guys who cant play, rivers should've been kept around too. Plus the whole cutting the only T and carrying nothing but imp guards on the pr, mcghee sticking around soo long, sheahan lol, the early failed karamoko experiment, cutting rosery, its an impressive amount of tri level chess mos is playing and mental gymnastics to get to that point.

TIL - MOS is just lucky.

He can't evaluate talent like those on the internet.

Is this Riderville?

Nice strawman, ad hominem combo! Double points, you win! 😄

People are quick to toss all the accolades on a guy....but will ignore the negatives and bad traits...cause we won some games....we did this...we did that...bkah blah blah

Well we could and should have won more...had 4 cups....maintained an re-stocked top end players....but we havnt....and it fell right on the coaches feet....

Every coach I have ever known first hand....or in leagues I have been in for all their success's...had fault's and bad traits/bias'....it's not to take away anyhing they have done, but more of a it should have been better...or imagine what if, but most the people here spin it as some posters think they know more...and maybe in some instances some do see the forest thru the trees and do see a better way....it's not un-common

And many still look past the fact that in the first 2 cup runs...in many instances we won despite the short sightedness....That will happen when you have some top flight generational talent in their prime able to play above an beyond and mask the short comings...we don't have that now....but still have some poor rostering...and poor game plans...and we sit 7-6 and lucky to be in first...due to a few teams tanking, but also we are close to at par with talent now with everyone...some instances below par....and the record reflects it....Osh didn't in game 5 formulate a new plan or do something radically different to turn it around...he did nothing really....only when injuries happened...we just Lucky Campbell screwed his team dynamic up and Mace is just an idiot

Coaching lost us the last 2 cups...any argument otherwise is just nitpicking for the sake of nitpicking....and the 2021 cup was a lucky win too....we escaped that one...were almost outcoached in that...and were severely outcoached in 2022 and 2023....but ya but we made it??...who effin cares...we lost...when we shouldnt have

I will reiterate...out of the coaches in the league Osh is the one I want before all the trolls start their usual tripe....But he can be better...and based on past failures and why we failed...he should be better....learn from your past failures...dont repeat them

I'm honestly not sure why either side bothers to get into this again. I think everyone knows where everyone stands and this type of discussion has 100% turned me off the forum in the last few months...not because I don't appreciate it...but because I ******* KNOW!!! We've been there...talked about it...argued about it...can both sides just please move the **** on already!! Gawd damn!!

Anyways....

Saw someone on Twitter post they saw Johnson kinda PO'd at the banjo bowl. When the game ended he left the field immediately, no shaking hands etc. Just went right to the locker room. Maybe it was just time for a divorce...sometimes for whatever reason things don't work out. Too bad, cause he seems to have the right talent for the CFL. I bet we see him in another uniform before long.

Here's a question....

Edm...most rushing yards in league...best average yard per rush....use 3 RB's to keep them fresh and are gonna use a running/mobile QB for this game...so our dline will have to be very busy/active and likely doing a lot of chase and outside contain while still having the muscle in the middle

Do we run 6 dlineman out there again...2 of which are sub par and have minimal pursuit and technical skill to counter act anything....dress an extra DB as well as have the extra Hallett on roster which is overkill as e plays teams only....Or do we add Adams....and Hubert...have a stronger more versatile...AND athletic front...to try and minimize or stifle the run?...would running out that sad dline rotation of last game against a team that has ability to gouge an inferior, and under-manned dline be the smart roster decision?....Will we again run a 3 man front to take away the pass of Edm where they rank in bottom half of league in passing and encouraging DFord to take off and run at will against a 3 man rush...with 8 guys dropped into soft zone coverage?

If we do that...would anyone here think that was the smart decisions? and the best roster for this particular match-up?

As a coach...and yes I coach....would not be running out a similar lineup and scheme as to what we had last game

Edms run game worries me most. Hamilton has really been the only team to stick with the run against the Bombers and it worked. If they stick with the 3 front they gotta make sure that second level is pressing the line ready to make a play or it could be a long day.

Also need o employ 3 athletic guys...ones who prsue and can move vertically...guys who can get off a block and make a play...we have those guys....will we use them extensively?...Thats the rub

I still think tho for this game...the 3 man...especially with Jake taking majority of reps at nose...is recipe for disaster

100% we will see if Younger makes an adjustment or not.

Many people are tired of getting how bad O'Shea is jammed down our throats. It's consent. It's about every little decision the team makes. It gets annoying after a while. Made my experience here not as fun as it used to be.

Have to agree. There are maybe a couple of people around here who just bring every discussion back to Osh and his roster management. He is certainly worthy of both praise and criticism for it but at this point I just read the comments and wonder if I'm getting trolled.

Winning is hard. Maybe Osh's roster decisions impacted the last two Cup losses. There is certainly an argument for it. But without Osh we don't win two straight Cups in the first place either.

I am sick and tired of hearing how we would be undefeated and have won more Cups, etc if only they had listened to someone on the internet.

The comments about poor roster management aren't wrong, it's just exhausting. And absolutely we have lost some GREAT posters who are now just lurking (at best) because they're tired of the rampant negativity.

Maybe it's actually the rampant attacks.

What’s his story? Looks like he was with the Argos earlier this year

He's a legit pass rush specialist....very active

From some colleagues I work with even tho undrafted was viewed as a guy who if he could put on some weight would be a legit dedicated pass rush guy, but from what I know he hasn't buked up....even with a few recent NFL camps....and would be perfectly suited to the CFL game if he comes in here at 235...245 pounds....I could easily see him supplanting Haba if actually given a real opportunity....

Yeah we are pretty much married to zach for better or worse. Probably for next year too.

With no dvorce in sight...we better keep him upright and healthy.... Which brings me to...I hope big Stan is back to healthy....that will definitely be optimal

We know he isn’t 2021 Zach but we have to give him some credit. After a 2-6 start we’re first in the west and he’s done a good job of taking care of the football after a tough start

he has picked his game up for sure from what it was...now is it cohesion?...change in philosophy...did he get "coached" up a lil to be more cerebral?...who knows....but I be a bit leary with eggs all in his basket for 2025

Yeah I noticed after the first bye the game plan changed to get rid of the ball more quickly. We had a lot of big plays in previous years with those long developed plays where Zach had time, it’s apparent he’s just not going to get that time to throw.

Penny Hart WR who has bounced around NFL since 2019 and Brandon Wright DE from Michigan State started his career in College as RB moved to DL seems like he would be real athletic.

In watching his highlights, it seems that he runs nice, crisp routes and has great hands but not that fast in a straight line, so he will have to rely on quickness.
