Just as a man-on-the-street report from here, we've actually experienced most of our support growth (attendance was up 20% last year and 5% this year) among youngsters. In fact, the last few years, you can't find any youth football events around the GTA that the Argos haven't been involved in. It's a long slog to grow a generation of supporters, but it's fun to see so many kids and youths in BMO.

That's reason 1 why I don't want Pinball as commish. We need the continuity, particularly with the recent shift in MLSE ownership share.

I have to say....You do notice a lot of youngsters there...and that is a good sign and start....cause if kids wanna go.....Parents need to take them for most part

There are markets other than Toronto that could use Pinball, and his grassroots appeal and focus. Therefore, it would suck for the Arblows but it would be the entire CFL's gain. I get what you are worried about though, in the CFL football wasteland of Toronto a guy like Pinball is necessary.

Is he? I'm not sure Pinball has the influence he once did, outside CFL circles anyway. It's not like they've seen a huge resurgence of fans since he joined them either.

Off the field we are up in attendance and trending positively (for a change).

On the field, the year that Pinball got here we went 4-14.

We then (after the plague) went 9-5, 11-7, 16-2 and this year 10-8 as the most injured team in the league and without our MOP for half a season.

I think the Argo's seem to be trending in the right way with fans and marlketing...etc.....so the league hand-outs and catering should come to an end

My question is, how many of that younger crowd are getting free tickets through grass roots initiatives? It’s been done a lot of times in a lot of places. At times it’s built strong young fan base, other times it’s created an unwillingness to pay to support the team.

Kind of hilarious how McNeil brushes off Dickenson wearing so many hats as "leaning on personnel department" during the season.

Personnel department is two people in Calgary.  You need GM to do a fair amount of scouting work in this league in this era.

They just stepped into big pile of stinking poo with that decision. My Stamps friends here in town have all said they're not renewing.  CSEC ownerership is deaf, blind & dumb. Good luck selling whatever they try to do next season to what's left of the fanbase.

It's not surprising they kept Dickenson, Noeller. Worst ownership in the CFL.

It never hurts to get kids into the stadium. Teams should be building relationships with younger fans. Memories of players & past games help build that relationship. Kids have to see the game in person to fall in love with it. For every one kid that grows up to be a cheap bastard wanting free tickets there'll be three hundred that won't.

That is exactly right. Living here, I have friends who have Stamps season tickets. They all said that they're done & won't be renewing. They feel betrayed with what happened & aren't coming back. These are older fans who have been season ticket holders all for over 30 years. They don't feel appreciated anymore. They'll never be back. Younger fans just don't give a damn. Apathetic fanbase. They're now going to follow their favourite NFL team. A lot of Seahawk fans are Calgarians. I assume that is where they'll now spend their money for their football fix. 

Everybody knows Edwards bought the Stamps as a tax write off. He puts no money into the team, free agents or facilities. 

We just go from one problem team to another. Ambrosie telling us we have strong ownership is a farce. Calgary is the next tire fire.

It really is a shame for a once proud/dominant team. I enjoyed the Manitoba/Calgary trash talk and rivalry with my Calgary relatives ever since I was a kid but it's no longer a major source of conversation because they simply don't care anymore.

A pity, really.
