His contract expires, they shouldn't waste time or money rediscovering what they already know about Strev, he isn't their future QB.  Time to admit he failed to reignite the magic of 2019 and move forward.

He was 1 and 0 as a starter. I’m not sure how he failed. Buck pierce failed the entire O this year.

Over 18k sold for BMO tomorrow. Looks like we'll have everything sold and end at 19k other than the upper east side, which will not be open.

I'm predicting a big Argo win and have placed my bet to reflect it. My second bet has an Argo win and a Rider win with no spreads.

And I'm predicting that the Argo's will continue to suck regardless of their game outcomes.

Yes I'm a toddler but a well meaning hardcore BB toddler.

Go Bobby Dyce!

and none of his salary will be on the books until post labour day anyway....and can't pass judgement on him until he allowed to play QB...He wasn't allowed to do that this yr...we made him try and be some battering ram first few games, and into his start...and he was banged up rest of the yr from it...

Note for any MBB members in the GTA who'll be at the game tomorrow:

I have a cooler full of beer, my section of the tailgate is serving cheddar smashburgers and I've got my travel humidor full of the okay'est cigars that you'll have all week. Any of you are welcome to pop over for a cold drink to wish me a happy birthday and talk football. My name is on my jersey and my picture is on my FB or IG if you need to find me just PM me for them.

I think the Strev injury was and will be a blessing in disguise as any coaching staff would be brain dead to run him the way they did....right off injuryand he may finallyget the chance now to actually play QB here...and use his legs like he did his first 2 yrs here and run when it had to happen or opportunity begged for it

He will be back next yr here...so hopefully we see that transformation

We had better see a change in Streveler's playbook. He will be a year older and every injury makes you a bit slower and a bit more vulnerable. IMO, a quarterback who runs (intelligently) 3-6 times per game changes the whole complexion of the game and opens up so many options. But if he runs every damned time he has the ball, that negates almost every advantage. And is going to cost the team in both money and adjustments when he inevitably goes down.

Qb runs either need to be home run swings or end at the side line. Not power inside stuff. Especially when the guy has a battering ram mentality. It’s fine vs dbs on angles not head on in the tackle box vs front 6 guys. Other teams have done it well in the nfl and ncaa. No excuse why we can’t. (the ravens have long been the standard I hope to see out of that package in this respect.)

Is he signed for next season?   Maybe Calgary gives him a chance?

Yes it’s a 1 year deal. I’d be stunned if he went elsewhere tbh. If buck stays, he shouldn’t though.

Elks have asked for permission to interview ed Hervey for their gm spot. Doesn’t sound like they are offering him a job upgrade, but Hamilton might be willing to move on any way. Not surprising but you’d think Edmonton might like some fresh blood.

Esk Elk. Same thing. Elkskimoes

I like the idea I’ve heard floated around to rebrand the Elks as Esks. I’ve lived here for 20 years now and that’s how most fans refer to them as.

I think that’s worse, but if it makes the locals happy and helps bring back fans it’s well worth while just being the esks.

Morris' press conference basically indicated they needed to get back to that.

He also said "Eskimo Way" a bunch of times.

Stay away from anything that's even remotely close to "Eskimo"..... It's 2024, for Christ's sake...

The Elks make more sense to me since Edmonton isn't currently known for having a large Inuit community.  I don't think changing the name  back to the Eskimos is going to create a surge of ticket or merch sales.

If Ottawa can get a nice crowd with a dumb name like Redblacks then I don't see why Edmonton should focus on a name change. Focus on putting a fun outing that can draw casuals and non football fans to the stadium.

I wish this game goes double OT 😁

Anyways, if the Lions lose here you got to think that would be it for Campbell as HC

Never mind that the inuit and eskimos are different groups anyway.

https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Eskimo

Quote

Eskimo (/ˈɛskɪm/) is an exonym that refers to two closely related Indigenous peoples: Inuit (including the Alaska Native Iñupiat, the Canadian Inuit, and the Greenlandic Inuit) and the Yupik (or Yuit) of eastern Siberia and Alaska.

It is not different groups,    it's just that the word Eskimo was used in a derogatory manner so the preferred term is Inuit.

As it should be. Campbell screwed up. He needs to be held accountable.
