No wishing that he be given the entire playbook will change anything. Buck ain't stupid. He saw the way he practiced & threw the ball everyday. It's time to move on. My proof is what he's done when give a full playbook and multiple NFL opportunities as a quarterback. Where is your proof other than "I don't like his throwing motion" Noeller 1
Bigblue204 Posted November 4 Report Posted November 4 (edited) People seem to forget the 2019 version of Streveler. He played qb then. And did just fine. You can argue that he hasnt progressed, and that might be true, but it's just as true that he hasn't been given an opportunity to either. It's a chicken and egg scenario imo. I dont want to write him off, but age is becoming a factor now. Edited November 4 by Bigblue204 Tracker and wbbfan 2
Booch Posted November 4 Report Posted November 4 I want Strev back, and the legit opp to play QB.....Dude can.....much to what lots here seem to think otherwise wbbfan and Tracker 1 1
17to85 Posted November 4 Report Posted November 4 He was brought in initially on the strength or his passing resume.... ifnhe was useless as a passer the NFL would have brought him in as a receiver or something NOT as a qb. wbbfan 1

You'll never convince me that he can be a serviceable starting QB in the CFL. Ill believe when i see it(and i highly doubt i ever will). Fatty Liver and rebusrankin 2

wbbfan Posted November 4 Report Posted November 4 https://3downnation.com/2024/11/04/nine-candidates-to-be-the-next-gm-of-the-edmonton-elks/ i think it’s a 3 horse race with ringmaiden, Ted, and most likely Ed. Most of that list is really funny or sad.
rebusrankin Posted November 4 Report Posted November 4 Clearly they should hire both guys from the Stamps. wbbfan 1

Believe it or not he's fallen a half mile behind Cody Fajardo's progress in developing from a short yardage QB with no hope into a starter, and is unlikely to ever make that progression. If he had stayed healthy this season and Zach had not, how comfortable would the mafia be riding him into the playoffs against the Riders, Als or the Argos? I think they would choose to start Dolegala in that situation, not going to beat any of those teams grinding out 17 points. JCon, Bubba Zanetti and bigg jay 1 1 1

Are you seriously comparing Strevy's development to a guy with 3 times the experience/play time? Fajardo was already in the CFL before Strevy even made the switch to full-time QB in college so yeah he should be ahead of him in progression. Fajardo: 45 games in college & 124 games (73 as a starter) in the CFL. Strevy: 23 games (as a QB) in college & 54 games (12 as a starter) in the CFL & NFL. White Out Posted November 4 Report Posted November 4 (edited) I only want to add, that, one of the most memorable touchdown passes ive seen live in my life, and most important, was Strevelers 2nd quarter touchdown pass to Harris. It was at that moment I started to believe we had it in the bag, and we came to win that day. **** I wish I could relive that evening. Like I said, Strev. is half a mile behind Fajardo in terms of development and will never be given the playing time needed to catch up. If the Bombers want to stay competitive after Zach is gone, they won't have the luxury of investing multiple seasons in "Project Streveler" only to realize he'll never approach Zach's level of competent play. It's not so much the physical ability to throw the ball or run, Dru Brown showed more ability with less playing time because he has the quicker QB mindset which gives him the ability to see and read the field quickly. Wow, that's pretty bad that they can't even get that right... it's pretty easy to check the scores of the game, and knowing that the Labour Day game was in the middle of our 9 game winning streak makes an error like that in an article very questionable. You think the Bombers should go all in on Strev. as Zach's future replacement? How are they going to do that and what is it going to look like?

One guy got to play qb the other got to play glorified full back... sign streveler as the backup next year and let him play the position. He will do fine. He did more than collaros early in the year anyway. Dragged the team to OT after collaros went out vs. Calgary and picked up a win in his only start.

People should watch the press conference introducing Morris. They are full on going old boys club "Eskimo Way" under him and the new owner. I'd say really Hervey probably already has the job. rebusrankin, wbbfan and Noeller 3

I do not think Mac wants any part of that. His current job is a dream role for him. Harvey is a huge front runner imo. Simon yeah I could see taking off the interim tag.
