You gotta remember... riders suck now and for always.

For sure. I just commonly see the tackle numbers used against Milligan and I don’t really get it - he’s not out on the corner, he’ll have more opportunity to get involved and on top of that, the Riders were thrown against over 100+ more times than us. Stands to reason he’d be more around the ball than Ford

Tackles...especially for a DB are kind of pointless, as the context of them can lead to different scenarios....and volume of plays also can lead to stats....volume can also be a sign as teams see you as the weakness.

Looking at the INT's tho....Ford's for the most part of been a direct result of good coverage and him reacting and making a play on the ball. With Milligan the majority were balls thrown right at him on really bad passes where the man he was covering was not even the target....so there is that too

ST tackles should be irrelevant really...especially if it a result your offence blows and you are kicking alot....and some guys also may not be on all the teams

Milligan...is good.....he's not like what the media is rying to portray and force on us tho...and I'd say that regardless of what team he plays for...not just cause he is a Rider

The fact their defensive backfield as well for the most part was one of if not the worst in the league...all year needs to be looked at too. If a guy is all world and this slam dunk guy...they should be middle of pack at worst

I am of the opinion that a DB with high tackle totals is not a good thing for any defence. When tackles are coming in the secondary your defence has lost the plot. I am not sure that Milligan's tackle totals should be used against him per se, but they shouldn't be celebrated either. You are also correct that teams threw 100 more passes against the Riders than against us....again...not a stat any team should love to see in the CFL.  You put Ford in for Milligan this year, I think Ford has better stats.

I gotta admit, I don’t quite get the talk that Ford is better than Milligan.

What do you not get about it? It may or not may be true...who knows...but it is close enough that the conversation should definitely take place.

Milligan is a great ball hawk who reads the play real well. I'll give him that. He and the rest of the Sask secondary gave up a butt load of passing yards and TDs through the air. Dangerous DB to throw against? Yep....one that should be avoided because he is a shut down guy....nope.

Milligan didn't even lead his team in special teams tackles. I think this is the first time I've seen 'Defensive Plays Total' around the talk to MODP/MOP, not even taking into account Special Teams Tackles being part of it.

The Riders managed to turn that gigantic positive TO ratio into a huge amount of punts. The Riders had 103 punt returns against... the next closest team had 80! So yeah he's gonna have more opportunities for STT.

I think all 3 of Lawler's TD's against the Riders were the result of poor coverage or broken plays, don't expect the Argo secondary to allow any easy pitch and catch.

Bombers schemed all those up to flood Sask 3 deep and force them to cover man.

Toronto doesn’t play as static of a D, Sask literally in same alignment and coverage 3/4 plays.

I’m not sure either is even the best at their position.

But INTs!

Why not? They were in the back half of the league defensively this year. This isn't 2023. They are NOT the defensive juggernaut they used to be. The Argos are a team that surrendered just shy of 500 points.

I think the best way to put it is, Based on the 18 games this year, who is the best clampdown DB in the league right now?

Tyrell can be a shut down guy though. I never saw that from Milligan. Boom and bust DB. Our best DB is Nichols and have the league doesn't even know his name.

Did you watch the Semi final?

I like our halfbacks.

Ento at corner.

if you were trying to build the best secondary out of all the players in the league it’s probably all Bombers and Als.

So Ento-Nichols-DeQuoy-Holm-Ford?
