I don’t love the nut ball. And I get why the league has to fine him, but he hasn’t been wrong. So he sure as hell isn’t bringing the league into disrepute. The officiating, command centre, scheduling, supplemental punishment, and consistency in all those areas has drug the league down into the mud.

yup...he is a bit of an odd duck....but he not wrong in any way

MBT is 100% right on the short weeks.  Even with our high school team had a Friday game then a Wednesday game.  4 of the 5 season-ending injuries we’ve had this season happened in the Wednesday game on the short week.

Need that recovery time but also the prep time to be prepared to play the most physical sport.

Players should be fighting for a minimum of 6 days between games and league needs to figure it out.  Season is almost 22 full weeks now so should be able to sort it out to get 18 games in on 6 days rest each minimum.

Yep. The 5 day rest, 2 in 10 days and 3 in two week is ridiculous. As is going half a season with no byes when you get 3 in the year.
I think every one would benefit from having a bigger gap between the end of pre season week 1 and the start of pre season week 2 as well.

Pretty sad that a full in whacko in mbt has a better head on his shoulders than the stunned banana that is Ambroise.

What makes you think it is all up to Ambroise?

Mainly the shift from how much more aggressively they punished intent to injure etc before him. The bog for sure pulls the strings behind the green curtain but soo many areas that are struggling at all time worst levels have his stink all over it.
It’s not the primary stuff from the off season the bog usually works on that’s at issue.

You can take away the padded practices, improve the protective gear , but if you can't give them the time to recover, it's all for not. PEDs or rest, CFL, take your pick.

Total off topic but would be interested in any insights you have on Dakota's and Oak Park's teams and programs. Maybe a PM.

PEDs help you heal. Obviously, you don't want to encourage PED use but if you're worried about injuries and you're not prepared to give them the necessary rest between games...

He's a good pro. No chance in hell he's happy about all of this.

I’d say he’s a good qb, but bad at being professional. I think he’s doing what is in his best personal interest right now. I fully believe he loves bc as a market, it’s beautiful, low pressure, the owner is happy to spend and brings in big concerts, and till Rourke he’s had the run of the market.
I think he believes some where deep down that he can some how push out rourke, which is what he wants most. So he’s doing his best to be radio silent only surfacing to toe the line.

As such, I bet he’s thrilled to see rourke struggle and get a shot again. Would he be happy to sit on the bench next year for his full salary in B.C.? I think he might. But it won’t happen

there are some PED's that really offer no health risk....but are banned none the less....the league just needs to schedule things so there no 4 day turn arounds...even with odd number of teams no real rrason for it...if you have to bump up season a week or 2....big deal

I wonder if, when there are those short weeks, that the team suffering that could have both games at home- or is that already happening?

That is a good idea.

Taking a quick look at the schedule this year I see edmonton playing 2 road games with 5 days rest, both on the road. Both close loses, though that did come after a bye week atleast. I see similar with ottawa, but with a home game followed by a short turn around road game here, with out a bye week previously. In that stretch they played sunday at home, friday here, then they had the same turn around between the next 2 weeks in a home-away with edmonton. The amount of 5 day gaps ending with a road game is really high. 5 games isn't the worst, but when you add travel once it becomes a lot. 2 games with a short break and both being on the road is just brutal.

We don't see all the stretches of 3 games in 10 days that we did early post covid, but we see a high rate of 3 games in 12-13 games with road travel once or twice. We had 3 stretches like that, with no byes before, and a 4 day turn around with travel this year.

The schedule is already extremely long, especially for college kids making the jump. 5 days should be the minimum between games, ideally either a home and home or with a bye week before hand. Teams shouldn't play 3 games in 2 weeks or less.

Bad ownership, bad coaching, bad quarterbacking. Bad Canadian Drafts. John Hufnagel aging out & really wanting to permanently retire.

Sounds like the Bombers before Wade took over.  Going to take a while to rebuild that team.
