It really only matters for a runner up type situation Disagree, if the Bombers have the two top Canadians in Brady and Ford, why can't they both be nominated and let the voters determine who's more worthy? Just as relevant, if the two best defensive players are in the East, why substitute a Western player of lesser value as a finalist? JCon, TBURGESS, JohnnyAbonny and 1 other 4

Is it your opinion their picks were sarcastic commentary on how the awards are done? If so, what would lead you to believe that? Or do you think that Milligan as MOP or Ford at NI is somehow better than the current nominees? 3DN is making the argument that the ability to pick from anyone is better by absolutely botching every pick to the point of ridiculousness when given the opportunity to demonstrate it yet you, for reasons I don't think anyone can understand, are defending their demonstration and suggesting people who don't see it that way can't see the forest thru the trees? Sorry, but that's just too rich. Edited 21 hours ago by GCn20

Listen to any CFL based podcast over the last month, there's quite a few of them if you're willing to listen to other people's points of view, they've discussed this concept on almost every one of them, including numerous 3DN podcasts.

bearpants Posted 19 hours ago Report Posted 19 hours ago 4 hours ago, Fatty Liver said: The point of the article was not to highlight the individual players picked to win, it was to illustrate the current awards system is outdated and needs to be fixed by removing artificial boundaries of teams and divisions. BTW the same concept every other football journalist in Canada agrees with. "However, just like in years past, the league’s outdated voting system will have as large an effect on the results as straight statistical comparisons. With local voters only able to select one nominee from each team and regional voters limited to one choice per division, the best two candidates rarely end up on the final ballot." Maybe you should read the article before commenting, eh? I don’t think many are disagreeing with that part… the fact that they still concluded the 4th or 5th best db is the league should the league MOP is what deserves ridicule… unless, as @GCn20 suggested, you think they’re making these picks kind of ironically… well, I don’t think the writer at 3DN are that clever… Noeller and GCn20 2

Brady will win the award. Natl. pundits across the league seem to be more impressed with the season Tyrell Ford had than what Brady did, which was more or less on par and expected. It's been a long time since a Natl CB played as well as Ford has, he receives little benefit or recognition because local reporters stacked the deck with Brady. As it is the awards ceremony is almost a non-event with little drama and few fans even bothering to watch the broadcast, partner TSN has so little faith in the interest they're airing it exclusively on TSN+ late Thursday evening. Standing pat has failed, a shakeup is necessary to revive the event and create more fan interest. Each category should have at least 3-5 contestants, that way you wouldn't see so many fans tuning out as soon as the 2 finalists are announced. rebusrankin 1

He barely talked about Ford. There are no real ball hawks in the CFL anymore. Guys with double digit interception numbers as in years past but guys like Ford cover so well & are tough to beat. Tyrell's just getting started in his career. I hope we can sign him to a long term deal. TSN killed the event & made it irrelevant. Scarf Boy just sat there & watched the awards ceremony become the awards cemetary & did nothing. All while proclaiming what a great partner TSN was. **** Ambrosie. Glad he 's leaving... Five years too late. The guy was too stupid to realize the only way to grow the game is to showcase your stars, for crissakes. Televising the awards event & the CFL Draft need to be a part of the next tv contract. Edited 17 hours ago by SpeedFlex27 rebusrankin 1

I mean a Canadian leading the league in rushing and yards from scrimmage isn't anything to sneeze at. They fell all over themselves when it was Cornish or Harris in BC. Methinks sometimes the national media just loves to downplay the Bombers. Ford had a great season... but the most outstanding Canadian IS Oliveira. Ford is one piece of a great defensive backfield, Brady for most of the season has been the Bombers entire offense. rebusrankin and Noeller 2

The award is for most outstanding player. Oliveira's play was the most outstanding. I'm not sure why some people think that's a knock on Ford? Ford was easily the 2nd best NAT on our team and probably the league this year. That's nothing to sneeze at, however, BO was the man again. Whether he finishes second to Oliveira on the local or national stage doesn't change the eyeball test that most football fans have witnessed. Bigblue204 1

That includes other teams defenses. They all knew who he was and what he was going to do and none of them could stop it. Ford played well....buuut...he was fairly unknown and no one (outside of this organization) knew what to expect. Once they figured out he was the real deal his numbers slowly faded. Still a great season. But Brady had an outstanding one while everyone tried to stop it all year long. Piggy 1 1
Booch Posted 3 hours ago Report Posted 3 hours ago Without BO on the field for us all yr...we aren't here in Vancouver right now....If we lost Ford for a stretch...we likely are...No knock on Ford but in the totality of the season...BO was our and the league MOP....He was last yr too and got robbed...Hoefully he gets his due this yr with both awards.....another ring and a second MOC in Grey Cup....He is in the early stages of a generational all time great Canadian...heck RB in the CFL....Enjoy it people Mark H., Rod Black, HardCoreBlue and 5 others 4 2 2

He is probably the guy that other teams game plan the most for, and he still beats their game plan almost every week.

Mike Posted 10 minutes ago Report Posted 10 minutes ago I gotta admit, I don’t quite get the talk that Ford is better than Milligan.
