wbbfan Posted June 13 Report Posted June 13 Keys to the game imo, 1, zach needs to be comfy. He needs to shake the rust off, find and maintain a rhythm, plus have better pass pro. Key piece here is Feltmate. I expect to see him in a lot on passing downs for pass pro. 2, Need some one to step up on offence to support zach. 2 of our and the leagues best weapons are out. Need that gap filled. Key guy here is wheatfall imo, he's a real sleeper but is the exact type of guy zach loves to lean on. 3, better game from the secondary. Mainly ford and holm need to gel and improve. We need to come out hot today, no more sluggishness. BaconNBigBlue, HardCoreBlue and Noeller 2 1
voodoochylde Posted June 13 Report Posted June 13 A couple of quick thoughts about tonight's game: Offensively and defensively the big boys need to do their job. Ottawa has a load in the interior of their defensive line, can our hogs hold up? Defensively, we need more pressure. Brown will extend plays with his legs but he's no real threat to run. Hit him. Hurry him. Get hands in his face and don't let him see the field. While I love the "go for the throat" instinct, Zach needs to be patient and not force the big play. The killshot is great but so is staying on the field and playing complementary football. Some sustained drives and not settling for 3 will be essential. Let's not rely on our special teams tonight - please? Ford needs to shake off last week and show some of what made him so intriguing when he was here last. Called it out last week and will call it out again - chemistry and communication in the secondary is still a question and it needs to improve. Will Augustine show he's more than a one trick pony? Great speed, works hard on teams and can make a defence pay but can he be a reliable target when he needs to? Can he pick up the rush and help keep Zach clean? Is he capable of getting those gritty yards to salt away a game? I think Drew Wolitarsky may have a big game. Is this the week I'm pleasantly surprised by what Mitchell brings to the team? Not counting on it. wbbfan and HardCoreBlue 1 1

wbbfan Posted June 13 Report Posted June 13 It's going to be a real telling game for the coaching staff. Ott has soo many guys that are former bombers, but especially with Rose on the PR, and brown. They know our personnel, and what we do inside and out. And we know brown far better than the ott coaching staff. We don't have game film on them this year, and they do have it on us this year. How well we game planned for this one will be key to our early success, but how we adjust on both sides of the ball to them is going to be the major indicator for our coaching staff. We will have to out adjust them no question in my mind. We can't wait too long to do it either.
Atomic Posted June 13 Report Posted June 13 (edited) Would be nice to see some of this from Myron Mitchell https://www.espn.co.uk/video/clip/_/id/27494627 Edited June 13 by Atomic

All I want him to do is 1, catch every ball possible in the air. 2, dont signal for a fair catch lol. 3, dont hesitate when he catches it or when he gets to the point of first contact, just go. 4, don't fumble or do any thing stupid. If he does all that and gets just 5 yards per punt return and 20 yards per kick off, that's good. 10 yards per punt and 30 per kick off isn't worth it if the ball is bouncing around etc.

He was never going to be a dynamic returner in the mold of Janarion Grant but he was SUPER dependable and never lost you field position. wbbfan and JohnnyAbonny 2

Yeah Coleman was in the twilight of his career here, no longer the explosive break away guy but he had such a great understanding of the job and did exactly what you needed. If any thing I’d be fine with a smart role player in the kr role rather than trying for the next grant or nothing less.

Letting the ball bounce all the damned time is just unacceptable. wbbfan 1

17to85 Posted June 13 Report Posted June 13 Yeah that's what I was talking about when I said not getting under the ball. Just appeared to have no concept of tracking the ball in the air. wbbfan 1

3rdand1.5 Posted June 13 Report Posted June 13 My Bomber keys to the game; Zach- was it rust....whatever it was the ball goes through his hands and he needs to better with it JA- he is not Brady, but my eyes said Brady was worse than we were led into believing health wise last game, can JA be better than injured Brady O-line-Kola probably had his worst game as a Bomber, looking for redemption this week Receiver-Lawler out hurts us, Woli played with fantastic intensity last week, that needs to spread and guys don't need to be Kenny, but guys need to get open and block D-line- is 6 guys enough.....humidity is supposed to be very high with damn near tornado weather...six is a slim number Biggie-is he going to play like biggie we all love....or biggie in last years GC? Ford- I may be overly harsh in my criticism, but he was one of the worst DB's last week.....league wide....he needs to bounce back Castillo-no chip no issues..... Sheehan- I am REALLY tired of punts out of bounds... Mitchel- doesn't need to break one, but secure and go forward Coaching-Woli had "it" last week, coaches need to make sure everyone has the intensity we should have JohnnyAbonny and rebusrankin 2

I don’t expect him to see 15-20 carries any way though. I think we will see a lot more sweep, strevy etc. rebusrankin 1
