He played fairly okay tonight, he didn’t play very good at all. A very Matt Nichols game. bluto, Mr. Perfect, M.O.A.B. and 1 other 1 2 1

He played very good last night and so did Matt Nichols on many nights. I can get behind your "is he worth 600k?' question. Very reasonable question. However, both last week and this week Collaros seems to have command of the huddle again against two very good defences. I am not suggesting he is in MOP form, but he certainly doesn't deserve some of the shots he's getting either after the past couple weeks. Edited August 2 by GCn20 BigBlueFanatic 1

Well maybe but we’re obviously used to seeing outstanding performances from our quarterback since Zach’s been here. But completing over 80 percent of your passes, nearly 300 yards and no turnovers is a good performance, especially in the context of the game. B.C had nothing going on offensively so we didn’t have to push the ball down field as much, and absolutely crushed time of possession. BigBlueFanatic and Bubba Zanetti 2

He could’ve probably had another 150 passing yards if he could hit a guy in stride.
JohnnyAbonny Posted August 2 Report Posted August 2 With the D playing the way it has been, Collaros playing like Matt Nichols was the best thing that could have happened. 2 minutes ago, Mike said: I’m not really going off the stats. Atomic Posted August 2 Report Posted August 2 How many starting QBs in the CFL right now would you take over Collaros? For me the list starts and ends with Dru Brown and that's only because of his age and ceiling. Really run through the list and ask yourself, would I trade Zach straight up for Fajardo? BLM? MBT? Chad Kelly lol??? Trevor Harris??? ******* Maier McCheese? Maybe you can make an argument for Tre Ford or VAJ but that's about it and both guys have pretty big flaws in their games as well. Collaros is on the downswing but he's still the man... IMO Wanna-B-Fanboy and BigBlueFanatic 2
JohnnyAbonny Posted August 2 Report Posted August 2 Few thoughts after skimming though again. On the failed BC onside punt, they never announced what the penalty call (or picked up flag) was after the TV timeout. I didn’t notice BA in a bad way for the first time all season. Garbutt is worthy of being so highly touted. That catch Wilson laid out for could have been an easy tuddy if Collaros hits him in stride. Randolph plays right to and even a little past the whistle. He found extra contact on a lot of running plays. I think he’s the guy. Ayers knocked out a guy who outweighs him by a good 50 pounds, crazy. Bombers are allowing points like it’s 2021. Given our record, it’s even more incredible. I don’t feel sorry for VA. Swing another helmet, clown. 6 minutes ago, Atomic said: How many starting QBs in the CFL right now would you take over Collaros? Same with Taylor Powell, and that’s even more of a maybe. Big no to any of those other guys. Brown in a New York minute though, I’ll die on that hill.

TBURGESS Posted August 2 Report Posted August 2 40 minutes TOP should = more than one TD, but the D was simply amazing.

Not that your ego needs any help, but I agree with you. Collaros is still off a bit and could make things easier for himself and receivers more often... however the way he's played the last couple weeks you can work with. So here's hoping he keeps it up. Is Pierce on the sidelines that much of a help for him? Atomic, Wanna-B-Fanboy and Mike 3

Is Pierce on the sidelines that much of a help for him? he not what he was....he also never really was a precision passer either tho....but he seemed more dialed in, and more field aware and was taking what was there....not forcing things and playing safe....they keep that up...the big shots will start to be there...especially with Lawler back.....and Wilson then getting more room...Can't be understated either the focus that teams will need to show Lucky...create more room, and spreading out the defensive coverages...That was a huge addition and gonna reap some big rewards for us.... Booch Posted August 2 Report Posted August 2 seems they throw a lot of flags just in case....and then dont check....or do check and still screw it up wbbfan, Bigblue204 and Noeller 3
17to85 Posted August 2 Report Posted August 2 they always throw a flag in onside situations. Gonna guess that the refs downfield might not always be aware of who is onside until they discuss with the other officials. Noeller 1
Bigblue204 Posted August 2 Report Posted August 2 (edited) Once again, the amazing command centre decided to show up randomly and reverse a call (the first no yards in 1q....not the fake attempt). I just don't understand the criteria for the command centre to get involved....seems to be completely random Edited August 2 by Bigblue204 wbbfan 1
Mr. Perfect Posted August 2 Report Posted August 2 I mean...if your QB has an 80 per cent completion percentage over the last two games and over 600 yards passing and your angle is he's still not playing well, just be open and honest and say your opinion is based on simply not liking the guy (which is well within your right) versus actually evaluating what he's doing on the field. Just don't BS about it. Comical. Noeller, Goalie and Captain Blue 3
Goalie Posted August 2 Report Posted August 2 No issue with the Matt Nichols O at all. Collaros has been making good decisions the last 2 games now. Not forcing it. Noeller 1
Mr. Perfect Posted August 2 Report Posted August 2 IMO it's not even the Matt Nichols game though. If Nichols threw for over 230 you were laughing. Noeller and wbbfan 2

Just don't BS about it. Comical. To be fair that is exactly what the knock that has been on guys like mbt, Nichols, trevor Harris and more. Driving the field and not producing tds in the red zone is a major issue. Yards don’t win games tds do. Our offensive out put being based around kicking 6 fgs a game isn’t sustainable. zach has played by far his best football the last two games. He did throw some stretch the field balls and throw them well. His passes were much cleaner and you could see it in the ease of catches WRs made. I don’t put the remaining issues with our offence on zach at all though. I put it squarely on buck. He hasn’t been consistently running the ball out side of the end of the game. His use of strevy has been poor. The red zone play calls are awful, our hot read / play design hasn’t been to throw to the end zone at all. The behind the line screen is a valuable play, but it’s not sustainable. It’s a good way to get wrs hurt too. It’s gotta be a feature of the offence not the bread and butter. Buck has always struggled with balancing btl/screens. The old jet motion play action roll out screen is soo well prepared for the targets lose yards and get killed most every time. With the improved line play, especially if we get rid of kola, zach is reasonable to play this year. Dru would’ve still been the smart move to keep, but especially with the qbing in the league zach is a guy you can win with this year. Took a long time for him to get healthy and ready but he’s there now. BigBlueFanatic 1
