It doesn't need to be intentional though.  That same call got made a couple years back when I believe Jake Thomas was cut blocked and blindly rolled into the QB's legs.  The roughing the passer call was made by the refs on the field and the league clarified it after the fact saying that a player has to maintain control of their body at all times in order to avoid that type of contact.  The CC made the right call last night, disappointed that the refs on the field didn't.

They said the same thing when Marino hit Massoli. It's on the defender to control his body. I don't necessarily like that, but at least it's black and white.

There is no reason that both teams should be on the same sideline and the league needs to tell teams to find a way to change this practice next year. Dyce said he has an issue with someone who he believed should've not been on the sidelines and that's what the brouhaha was about

A Rider fan or someone associated with the Riders harassing RedBlacks coaches & players on the sidelines. Why am I not surprised?

Maybe not. Seems he had official field access.

Why do his players have to restrain Bob Dyce from attacking the guy?  Something wrong with that picture, coaches behaving like idiots is becoming way too common this season.

agree, it's a bad look... but we have no idea what was said or done to provoke him

The comments are being described as inappropriate and inexcusable

Bob Dyce: “He shouldn’t have been there, and he shouldn’t have been talking to our players, and he certainly seemed like he felt like he had the authority,” Dyce said. “I’m not going to let anybody talk to our players like that, and I’m not going to let anybody talk to me, and I’m not going to let anybody use terms that I feel are disrespectful, and that’s that.”

Words alone can not justify the use of physical violence, no matter what was said.  Easy enough solution with security nearby to have him escorted out of the stadium without the added excitement of Dyce attempting to punch him in the face.

I know of Dyce and how he behaves as an average citizen. He would watch his sons play football and Dyce never, not once said a word to the boys coach about football or coaching techniques, he was described as a very respectful man, definitely not a hot head or budinski.

Considering that Dyce was entitled to be on the sideline, and he believed this was an unauthorized person talking trash to his players, and during that point of the game, a very tense game and the situation during the moment was confusing, as described by many, barking a few words at a “stranger” can be understandable. Bob was in his workplace, and good for him he felt ownership.

Somewhat similar is a goofball fan running onto the field and being tackled by a player, because of the stupidity and disruption by an unauthorized person. Terms and conditions on being a fan certainly apply to the unauthorized antagonist as previously stated on all tickets.

Dyce did not commit any act of violence. He was in his proper place. Goofball actually travelled - walked to disrupt people going about their business and advanced towards the folks on the bench. I’d say that is more than words, it can be characterized as aggressive and provocative.

Bob Dyce actions are easily mitigated. Goofball should be banned.

Doesn't seem to matter who running the show...or who's playing the games...yr in and yr out there always seems to be some stench..or some issues regarding something with the Rider's...and that not just a rival fan base opinion due to the dislike of them..it's from something always occurring...

Why did he have to be restrained? Because he knew he'd be restrained.  It's easy to act like a tough guy when you know you don't have to be.  Of course, it's not surprising when Dyce acts like he won a Grey Cup on a walk off last play field goal. At the same time, why is someone from the Riders doing something to embarrass their organization?

I dislike both teams probably the most in the CFL. Mace looks like a head coach who thinks he's the smartest guy in the room & he ain't. Dyce just acts like **** running onto the field screaming & pumping his fist when they win a close game. Act like you've done it before, Bob. Your job is to win football games.

Celebrating wins activates the brains reward system, boosting motivation and life satisfaction.
Skipping celebrations increases stress and the risk of burnout, harming motivation and well being.

Recognizing small wins helps solidify lessons learned, fostering intentional future actions.
Celebrating big wins fosters social support, enhancing relationships and feelings of connections.

Not my words but words from a brain coach and author.

Dyce is entitled to celebrate a win.

Being on a team that has fun after a win is a better condition than labouring for a listless, moping, gloomy, miserable, leader.

You won't agree with me but the way I feel is a coach who wants to establish a winning culture should show some restraint & just walk off the field with a little bit of class like he knew his team was going to win all along. Let his players celebrate. If Bob Dyce wants to run on the field acting like a lunatic jumping, screaming & fist pumping when his kicker (who rarely misses) kicks a walk off field goal or the RedBlacks win in OT then maybe it's Karma if he & his guys get shitted on after a game. I'm not saying that the Rider Reject was right but maybe Dyce deserved it. Perhaps it was Dyce who was the problem. It's no fun when things don't work out.

Words alone can definitely justify the use of physical violence. Just not in this particular case.

In this situation there's no proof that the guy had anything to do with the Riders though? I'm fairly sure that's just pure speculation. The guy was wearing a camo hoodie.

Nor in the eyes of the courts.  Dyce is the leader of young men who he lectures to turn the other cheek when physically fouled or provoked, maybe he's also the kind of leader that preaches, do what I say, not what I do.
