Rourke has looked overwhelmed in both games since he's came back... I also realize that Rourke  also has a punchable face which reminds me of this popular youtuber who has a hittable face.

Me thinks VAJ playing and Rourke taking a back seat for a month would be best for the team in the long run.

Rourke had a good gig going on two years ago with the Lions but he decided his lifelong dream was to play in the NFL. He felt being in the CFL was an unforeseen detour. So, now playing like **** is on him as he decided he wanted the allure of the big money & fame. Now, after being engrossed in NFL playbooks for 2 years it's left him unprepared for the faster & more wide open game of the CFL. He still needs to adjust.

I'm sure 99% of the Americans who come up to play feel the same way.   What football player growing up in the States wouldn't want to play in the NFL making ten times as much money?  I don't understand why people hate on Rourke wanting to play in the NFL?

Fwiw I learned recently that Rourke is legit (not Cahoon) Canadian. Grew up in Victoria and Oakville, Ont. Only went to the states for Grade 12 and collegeZ

Your point totally remains though, who wouldn’t want to at least try to get to the top echelon of their craft?
I don’t get how you can ever fault a player for trying the NFL.

NFL is the creme de la creme when it comes to all football. Your career could be very short in the CFL, no blame on him wanting to see where he stood when it came to the game. He probably made some ok money bouncing around, he realized he was going nowhere down south and thus, took 600k a year and playing with his home town team.

Yeah no one blames Rourke for wanting to go to the NFL, it's the attitude where the CFL was an unforseen detour that rubs people the wrong way. A lot of guys may think it... but very few say it, especially when the national media is hell bent on shoving that person down our collective throats as the greatest canadian ever!

It’s like a swimmer saying the only want to get a gold medal at the commonwealth games and not the Olympics

I don't hate Rourkei. I hate the media bullshit we have to listen to from guys like Suitor, Naylor & Lalji. Lalji called him a Top 20 qb in North America a week or so ago. Hardly. As viewers, we're force fed this stuff on TSN constantly like we're all supposed to be impressed. So then, because of the hype, fans of other CFL teams enjoy it when he fails. Am I cheering for Rourke simply because he's Canadian? No, why would I? Canadian or not, he's a BC Lion. I want him to fall flat on his face.

Rourke improved quite a bit from his 1st game back. It's a little early to judge his success / failure when the entire team has issues. Their defence can't tackle and Brown threw for nearly 400 yards and completed passes nearly at will.

I expect they'll add in DB Edwards-Cooper for their next game. He's healthy again in theory. That may help but like many teams have a long list of injured players.

Dru Brown has been impressive in Ottawa but note the rest of their roster has been upgraded as well. It takes a good roster to win not just a good QB.

Rourke looked great in the first Q then trailed off to mediocre at best. I expect he'll have a good half next week and so on.

BC is still in the hunt despite their mid season performance, much like us and our first quarter performance.

Huh???  Last heard from cut by the Riders in the spring.  Isn't he the DB Bailey knocked out of action?

I hate the lack of objectivity that surrounds Rourke.  The media acts like anything he does has never been done before.  His "miracle" 10 game start in 2022. It wasn't that great and anyone who can read should be able to figure that out. He beat the hell out of edmonton 3 times.  The worst team in the league.  And toronto once. Toronto was in a complete tailspin at the time. The game following their loss to bc was the one against us where they were fighting each other on the sideline. His other 6 starts were competitive but nothing out of this world.

TSN needs to work on better diversifying when marketing our great game ie use Rourke but temper it with equal focus on other players and other great aspects of the game and just drive home these messages constantly to help attract more bums in the seats and increase sponsorships so I don’t fill like killing myself after seeing the save on commercials over and over and over again.

I can't believe anybody would disagree that having Brown would have been better. Let's just pretend we can do the hindsight thing, even though a number of posters including myself begged bomber management to make a different decision than the offseason. Brown is playing at least as good as Zach and he's much younger. How hard is it in this league to develop a quarterback? We did it and then we shipped em off. It's so hard to fathom that it hurts my gut.

Yep.  Riders released him because he wasn't fully healed from getting trucked by Bailey.

Ironically, Toronto let Zach go to keep Ricky Ray, who didn't last much longer.

Our offence has been garbage all year. Accept that. I’m not sure why ppl think Zach is playing up to snuff when he hasn’t at all. An extra TD in multiple games where we scored none is the difference here.

I can't believe Brown is being so successful, I was sure I heard something about Ottawa being so bad they would ruin him and it would be the end of his career there.

Credit to the RedBlacks. Their OL is playing really well & giving Brown the time he needs to do his reads. He's been mostly upright this season & not on his back. Timing is everything. He signed with them as a team on the way up. It could have been last year.
