Roll with the projected starters for BB....Eli and Randolph as the extra's....and if one of Dobson or Neuf is sucking arse....slap Randolph back in

Vanterpool off...Biggie off...gives us 2 import spots...Adams for sure.....Be nice if Cole was back to slide in...not even sure what his injury was.....if he not ready be interesting to see who we fill that other spot with...Maybe Smith gets back in...That would be a plus too

Stanley back on too hopefully.

I'm going to be pretty disappointed if Randolph gets relegated to a backup role. Let Neufeld rest his old body until he's needed and keep starting Randolph who's our best guard. Especially if he is going to be on the roster anyways you might as well start him. He's and upgrade over any of our canadians.

A wise GM might take notice V.A. is likely to become available in the off-season, snapping him up like he did Zach could buy Walters another 4-5 years of elite QB serviceability.  Doing so would be better than milking an old cow for a year or two more in the hopes of extracting it's last remaining milk.

A wise GM would do their best to never trade a starting caliber QB to their biggest division rival.

Outside of that reason. Bombers would also have to trade Collaros or be on the hook for his contract.

If Nuef is practicing now after 4 weeks, do we not have to have him out this game and next to see the 6 game cap savings?

IMO get Nuef back up to game speed over the next two weeks, save the $$ as Randolph has been a great guard and keep Nuef off the roster and then re-visit in a couple weeks once the savings are had.

GREAT news Stanley is back. This may be the most rested he has ever been for the final 3rd of a season!

Also GREAT news Zach is back at it day one.....I know some disagree but Strev. must be knicked up pretty good, no way he would have stuck around long enough down South to earn a pension if he couldn't throw a ball.....so Zach back is HUGE

No Whitehead isn't ideal.....if he can't go we pull one of Case or Smith up...IMO 50/50 both have shown flashes

Biggie out...at least we believe him to be out that imp. spot should go to Adams again, we have LB's already rostered to take his spot

Honestly Zach and Bryant both practicing day one is really, really good news!

No it wasn't.

Our defence all season had surrendered less than 20 points a game. Against one of the bottom feeder offences in the CFL (Montreal's D was it's strength) we allow 28. If our D plays to it's usual standard in that game and doesn't surrender more than 20 our offence putting up 24 IS JUST FINE. 24 points should have easily beaten a crap Montreal offence if our D and STs don't **** the bed in that game. Yea....Zach and Co. weren't stellar but they were playing the 2nd best defence in the league and that was to be expected. They still put up enough points that we should have won against a CoFaj led team.

You can have multiple issues in a game you know. The offense was not fine. It may not have been a total tire fire... but the expectation for that group is much higher than "they need the D to carry them"

Definitely true. Montreals D was playing lights out and the bombers had about 1.5 healthy receivers.

Would love to know what Noeller is so confused by?  I don't want to see Nuefeld starting over Randolph...  what exactly is confusing?

Barring any setbacks, I would think the changes will be:
IN: OL Bryant, OL Neufeld, DL Adams, KR Smith
OUT: OL Vanterpool (PR), DL Schmekel (PR), LB Bighill (6), KR Whitehead

Bryant and Neufeld starts. Randolph as backup.
Gauthier starts.

Don't see that as a problem, should be some teams still interested in Zach if he's forced to renegotiate his contract.  Both V.A. and Trevor Harris have been there, done that.

He would be a fool to renegotiate with that much guaranteed on the deal. Let the Bombers cut him and resign for big bucks elsewhere.

Yes, he is eligible to practice now but would still have to miss the next 2 games for the cap savings.

Just because Neuf is practicing again, doesn't mean he is ready to go back or that Osh will throw him back in there this week (no different than when Lawler came back to practice but wasn't immediately re-inserted to the line-up.

Depends if he wants to continue playing football or not, Bombers trade him away and the team that takes him does so with the understanding that his contract will be renegotiated, it's been done before.

I don't understand this. So, you think a team would trade for him and then sit him if he didn't renegotiate?

Zach was 19/23 for 236 yards in the Grey Cup. Not incredible but not that bad either considering we had gone into the game with a run game first game plan. It wasn't our offence that let us down in last year's Grey Cup. Our defence folded like a cheap suit in the 4th Q.  We were in complete control of that game up to that point. Full marks to Cody for driving when he had too, but up until the last few minutes of the Grey Cup the guy had done nothing. Our defence, and some incredible plays and a bit of flukiness franklly, turned his stat column around in the 4th. Hall completely botched the 4th Q, and it literally cost him his job.

Find another playing from behind as often as he has. He came up big one game, but in all others he padded his stats in losing efforts.

2023 was lost on a worn out defence. Our offence was fine. Also Philpot destroyed us on STs all game and really was the reason they even had a shot, and Grant was bloody awful PRing.

Is that supposed to be good in the cfl? all of his incompletions came on 2nd down, leaving us 2 and out 4 times. Plus the sack on 2nd down in the 4th. 19/23 for 236 0 TDS and 1 pick is a good way to lose a game in the cfl. No matter the time of year. Fajardo went 21/26 290 3tds 1 int.
You don’t win very often in the cfl when you can’t throw tds. The offence actively let us down and cost us the game  the D, atleast held up for a while before folding.

Defences wear out, when the O isn’t scoring points, goes 2 and out, turns the ball over, can’t score majors and get consistent bad field position.

most of Cody’s play off games have been close, not playing some soft prevent trash time. and the teams he’s started for have had those games hinge on his play.

Can you cite an example where a guaranteed contract has been re-negotiated?

Soo much of his money is guaranteed now after renegotiating his deal twice I don’t know that you can take much out of it any more. I think the only option for him to be on a cheap deal would be to retire, be deemed a Fa after that (which involves some league and team stuff) then sign an all new deal.

I wonder if it could be renegotiated into public appearance money lol the lions don’t care they could pay him to be qb3 lol

Yes, both VA and Trevor harris have had to find new teams coming off one of their worst years ever and having turned 37?
Last year...I could understand an argument that someone would want Zach. Next season...I think that list will be limited to WPG.

they can renegotiate....basically leave the 250k gauranteed as his salry for 2025....move the rest to this yr...or majority of it. He's out no money per say...just gets an"advance" for 2025
