Bombers at Als GDT

Agree with our red zone aggression. Seemed like we got into the red zone and immediately ran Brady into the pile. Waste of a down.

To be fair anytime we get in the red zone and pass everyone on here screams about how dumb buck is for not using Brady

I finally watched the game...  I don't think I've ever seen a Blue Bomber game where the d-line had such little to absolutely no pressure on the QB.   Willie was double  teamed all night,  outside of the one Garbutt sack I can't think of any play where any one hurried Fajardo/Alexander or had a hand in his face or anything.   That is not going to cut it come play off time.   Very concerning.

The whole game I was waiting for someone to do something or to make a play or cause some sort of disruption.  Outside of the first series with the BS non interception call...  that D did absolutely nothing at all.    Fajardo after the first 2 series went what 16/17 and Alexander was 9/10 at one point....  yikes.

Glad we won but this is the weakest team that we've entered the play offs in during our latest run.

Fair but if they fill every gap and there’s nowhere to go… maybe if you’re an elite running team it doesn’t matter 🤷🏻‍♂️

It matters. As an elite running team you may have occasional success against a loaded box, but for the most part they are giving you the pass to stop the run and any OC with half a noodle in his head is going to call the game that way. BO wasn't running a lot because Montreal loaded up the box and dared us to beat them with passing on a windy and cold day.  If I am going to pick apart any part of Buck's play calling it wouldn't be his lack of using BO, it would be for not taking a few deep shots earlier or using some sweeps and throws to the flats in the game to open up the run by forcing Montreal to abandon the D game plan of loading the box. For BO to get touches yesterday we needed to force the defence to spread out and we didn't do that until the 3rd Q.

Yep. they couldn't beat Calgary yesterday and had a very Toronto-esque crowd watching.

curious what kind of jam packed it's gonna be for the WSF

And for this so-called great fanbase...travels well...yadda yadda yadda...that attendance for a crucial last game that had huge implications was brutal....and on a nice day to boot.....they travel sowell yet they cant drag their toothless masses to that craphole city?....and they don't travel well to road games...those are escapees and deserters

I don't know what's going on over there, but there attendance has been mediocre at best this year, a year they were actually competitive. Heard rumblings of the club price gouging and charging ridiculous fees on top of ticket price. Not sure tho. Fair weather fans imo.

There were at least two games I saw on TV where the stadium looked half full.

best fan base tho...bar none...yeah right!!....nothing beats a jam packed Bomber home game for atmosphere and intensity....and none looks better on T.V as well

And talking to players...playing here the crowd noise is a different beast they claim....the way the seating is...the sound is right on you, and you literally feel it and it is pretty ominous and intimidating.....kudo's to our crowd

Lot of players I know who have played in the NFL and for big NCAA schools say the noise and atmosphere rivals many places down south

Riders stadium is not a great viewing or fan experience. Too far from the field imo.

I think Lawson is still on the 6 game isn't he.

HE IS...I think that more tongue in cheek about why some guys seem perfectly fine...yet are "injured"

I know for a fact last yr Parker was frustrated and good to go 3..4 weeks before he finally got back in...and thank god he did as he saved the season

Took a look last night on ticketmaster and there were A LOT of seats still available.

Getting back to the game this past Saturday. That was more than a butt-clencher. In fact, I had given up hope. I'm glad the Bombers won but even as a non-football guy, I have to seriously question some of the coaching decisions. The one that was the biggest head-scratcher for me was playing Schmekel and Thomas at the same time. I didn't count the number of times that they had them out there together but the two times that I noticed, they were totally "swatted away" by Montreal's O-line resulting in big plays for the Alouettes. I'm hoping that when watching the video, the coaches will come to their senses and have a Eureka moment....."Maybe we shouldn't have these guys out there together."

too many times actually....and also late in the game when we needed to get ball back....baffling

Especially when due to ratio...we really don't need to have a Canadian in that spot....If/when it Lawson...who is a force it would be fine as a nice rotation and specific scheme guy....but those 2....yeeesh....I bet neither would get on a roster elsewhere

If you fill every gap, you are still in a situation where the back is likely 1on1 in any gap he hits. Considering most teams run 1 decent sized lber max, the rb is basically 1on1 with a db sized player in a good 3 gaps. Which is a battle you expect a good rb to win more often than not.
Run schemes today often seek to steal back a body too. That’s why teams run read plays, boot the qb, use jet motion, or what some teams are doing is motioning two guys in jet, then returning one to force defenders to spread out creating seams and gaps inside.

When we pass twice and don’t pa, or semi frequently go empty back field.
If we ran once with Brady, then threw an iso fade to some one like lawler and did that on every single red zone series we would have a drastically higher success rate.
The problem is we often throw twice, don’t threat the run, and don’t throw into the end zone. We throw a screen or short pass and expect the wr to do the rest.

Gotta remember Montreal has by far the best OL in the league this year, and their RBs are pretty damn good in pass pro. I believe it was Fletcher who just embarrassed Kramdi when the latter came through through on a blitz in the 4th.

We haven’t been getting much pressure on any other teams either though I guess..need an actual legit Rush End next year.
I know they’ve had some success with a 3 man front but when other teams figure it out in-game, Bombers need to be able to switch to a 40 on the fly.
