Adams appears to be overrated by some as the DL wasn’t good with him either.

Funny how the same folks who can't stop trashing O'Shea for sticking by players who do squat on the field continue to worship Adams, who’s done squat on the field. Talk about cognitive dissonance at its finest.

lets just say this...I train and work out with a lot of the players....I have a good handle and knowledge of what's what and can assure you he is good to go...but out of his hands...team may "claim" otherwise....but this is plain and simple a coaches choice.

I alluded to it before that last yr as well...several guys were good to go...for weeks...before getting a sniff...One player well over a month....and there is frustration about it....but what can you do other than look like the bad egg?

Alo someone mentioned Adams is over rated here?...funny comment, but hardly true....and to suggest that Thomas...Schmeck...even Haba offers more is laughable....on this team at times players get caught up in the Osh numer's game....and it's not a game that is restricted by ratio...etc...it's Osh personal belief's and preference....believe it if you want...or don't....

All I know is I can get into a three point stance much faster than JT. 🙂

I know I know let the adults talk.

second in sacks in limited games....one of team leaders in pursuit tackles on dline.....generates pressure in 3 different techiques...can play inside and outside......actually has athleticism and can run.....excellent hand skills....Explain what Thomas..Schmeck do to support your comment....we are waiting

2nd on the team in sacks....

yeah...see my previous comment....also other analytics teams monitor that dont show on a basic player stat page...how many times have we seen Adams come from depth to take out a ball carrier from behind...too many to mention...how many times we seen Thomas....none

How many of his 16 tackles were this?

You see anyone here not having major issues with the defensive line? The fact that no one can get more than 4 sacks other than Jefferson is a giant problem... but adams clearly is one of the better guys on the team at getting after a qb

go watch some film and come back to me....I not gonna do the work for people arguing for the sake of defending something stupid......anyone who thinks in a playoff tilt dressing 6 dlineman...2 of whom utterly suck ass is a smart coaching move regardless of what scheme they perceive us to be running is sorry to offend some of u...is an idiot

Also this "idea" that we plan to not pressure the QB in order to blanket his pass options is also idiotic...and if that is indeed the case....it's a sad joke and we will see the punch line as Thomas and Schmeck are either continuously washed aside as Sask runs at will to control the clock....and we cant get off the field with zero pressure/push as he just soft tosses to his receivers underneath this "blanket" coverage

I'll eat crow and take my lumps if Thomas and Schmeck combine for multiple sacks and close off the run...and penetrate the pocket allowing our ends to clean up....but ain't seeing that happen....nope....I hope Buck has put together a cheme, and ZC executes it to perfection to get TD's and we control the clock....thats how we will win

FFS. "I not gonna do the work"

You made the comment and won't back it up.

And to be fair to Adams, he’s been a healthy scratch a few times this season, so his numbers could/would be even better.

Also consider what kind of success he and the D line overall would have, if he was consistently taking snaps next to Woods or Fox, instead of Thomas.

This is a strange hill to die on.  Do you think Adams isn’t good enough to be in the lineup?  Do you think Thomas brings more to the table?  Just curious.

I asked a point blank question in response to this comment:

how many times have we seen Adams come from depth to take out a ball carrier from behind...too many to mention

And, so I wanted to know how many of the 16 tackles were this?

It was a straightforward question but got the usual filibuster in response.

WJ needs to be the accessory part and used according to that, not as the ancillary ....thats where he thrives and at this juncture would give great bang for the buck.

But we need to roster....and play guys that benefit that role, and quite frankly with who we have used in the middle for 80% plus of snaps just negates it......if you were to track and look at ...and grade the snaps with the canadians on....and strictly 3...or 4 of WJ/Woods/Adams/Fox or one of the ends inside with another end you would see a marked difference in success

And by grade I don't mean PPF crap...but how we really do it....to simplify best I can at times a 3 metric system....starting with Alignmen.t...assignment and technique and effort...and success/failure of any given play and what each was

further break it down with a grade or scoring system allowing for things like missed tackles...a critical error or missing your assignment...then look at sacks..int's...ff's...etc and take it another level to how many actual chances the player had....how many times he capitalized, and then score it as to if it was a big impact play, and then track impact plays over course of snaps in game/season

That's part of it in a quick nutshell but also just scraping the surface on how/what you score and grade and that PPF is pointless as they do not know what the assignment was let alone alignment and if a guy messed up....

I dunno, I find it really easy to believe Cole has some kind of injury given he was dinged up a few times recently. The whole hurt vs injured thing of course I just don't find it THAT surprising. He is a guy spent more than his share of time on the IR this year.

Love the guy, very good player I'd keep him on the roster for sure.... but in this case I'm going to give the benefit of the doubt to the coaches.

Cole is super inconsistent.  Grant him that he can make plays with speed that not a ton of guys can make, but as a player in the positions he excels at (which is basically anywhere you're not relying on him for pass coverage which he is brutal at) you need to be flowing to the ball at all times and not just getting washed or quitting when you blow your initial read.

I think he's a cool piece to have on as a DI to chase kicks and fit in sometimes if you have a solid group of starters at linebacker but I'm not going to pay him a veterans salary.

I fully expect Collaros to get sacked on the opening drive of this game. I'll be pissed when it happens

I on the other hand fully expect a BB TD on the opening drive of this game.

And as an added bonus a 2 and out on the Riders opening drive (I didn't want to get greedy and expect a pick 6 and piss off the almighty football wind Gods).

I could be wrong, but I feel like you got the response you were hoping for.  Why does it matter how many of his tackles were catching the ball carrier from behind?  Adams is a solid contributor on a D line that needs his skill set.  Do you not think he should be in the lineup?
