17to85 Posted November 3 Report Posted November 3 We won back to back on labour day and the banjo bowl. This riders team isn't some big bad scary threat. Harris will dink, then he will dunk and like last night will settle for field goals. HardCoreBlue and Bigblue204 1 1
Dr Zaius Posted November 3 Report Posted November 3 I'm not as concerned about our D. Harris will dink and dunk, and our D will be susceptible to it, but they tend not give up the 7s, and Harris hates scoring 7s. I'm concerned about lack of creativity on O. I don't want to see the Rider's D-line push through our O-line, and consistently put ourselves in second and long with Brady getting 2, 3 yards a carry. I think this one needs to be a bit more of a shootout than we're used to. But I can't see Buck and O'shea deviating from the grinding gameplan. rebusrankin and Piggy 1 2
ddanger Posted November 3 Report Posted November 3 I watched the Sask/BC game and was surprised/shocked at how poorly BC's secondary played. They just didn't seem very engaged. I think the crowd noise in Sask really affected BC's offence. Early in the season BC looked like they were going to run away with the cup, and man, whatta epic collapse. Shoulda picked Sask dammit! So my early thoughts are that we will have our crowd noise, and we ain't BC.Our secondary is way better than what BC displayed yesterday. Game will be close.
3rdand1.5 Posted November 3 Report Posted November 3 Sask. has a good d-line, they will get pressure.......a lot of the final outcome of this game will be how we handle this pressure. I don't believe we can stop it, so we /Buck needs to figure out how to slow it down, and use the aggressive Sask. D-line to our advantage. IF Lucky is closer to healthy and his speed and "twitch" is back he could be a very valuable asset this game.....we started to see him used in some motion, I will take a healthy Lucky one on one against a Sask LB or DB outside the tackles......Brady is not really an off tackle kind of back, Zach does have success with his right roll out's so no doubt Sask. will be looking for some contain....IMO in the BC game it was the interior guys overpowering the BC interior and collapsing the pocket on VAJ that caused most of the damage......This does worry me as our interior has not been great and Zach doesn't have the athletic ability VAJ does.......I would love to see us run at and stretch Betts....IMO he is very athletic and quick, but he is not great or disciplined against the run.....IMO he will/does get caught over pursuing and is something we can take advantage of... I really do believe that the biggest factor in the outcome of this game is our o-line vs. their d-line.......whichever line is more physical will be in the Grey cup....... Let's be ready to smack them as soon as the opening whistle sounds till the millisecond it blows and could be a penalty......every down every player especially on offence, block hard, run hard initiate the contact, do everything in our power to wear them down....We are the rested healthier team......with the home crown noise and energy behind us....absolutely no more of this coming out flat..... ddanger, Nolby and Piggy 1 1 2
White Out Posted November 3 Report Posted November 3 (edited) I predict a painful game to watch. Harris will dink and dunk. He will put up points. And in the end, it'll come down to if Zach can put together a decent game. I really think he's the linchpin to this whole thing. Zach needs to throw some goddamn darts and get some goddamn red zone conversions. Edited November 3 by White Out Nolby and Zach Schnitzer 1 1
Noeller Posted November 3 Report Posted November 3 Some mind blowing takes in here.... Whoever's line is more physical will likely win The QB is the lynchpin for the team Amazing stuff. Also, "we're the healthier team"..... Are we? We lost a lot of guys to injury this season. People are quick to blame Buck but honestly its been as much about too many new guys starting this season due to injury. bb1, White Out and Rex_Banner 1 2

Buck needs to adjust faster than the Toronto game we recently lost. Their dline was crushing us, making adjustments at half time and not on the fly hurt us. You never, ever see Buck call screen plays.....which would help alleviate pressure on Zach. Edited November 3 by Nolby Zach Schnitzer 1

Screens are a question mark this season.....perhaps a more knowledgeable X and O guy can jump in...but I agree that screens are and have been a very valid way to counter an aggressive D-line.... Yes and no...going an entire half of football and only giving the ball to your mop 3 or 4 (dont quote me on those #s) times isn't due to injuries...its bad play calling imo. There were plenty of games where Brady just wasn't being used and or no adjustments were made when pressure was a major issue. Injuries played a part, but I'm not giving Buck an out. He just hasn't been very good this year. BigBlueFanatic 1

I'd think at this point Zach has a lot of leeway to do what he wants out there within a certain set of parameters. ......... Unfortunately I'd bet this lack of tix is due to assholes from the rectangle buying up as much as they could afford.... Edited November 3 by Noeller Piggy 1 and bigg jay 2

Atomic Posted November 3 Report Posted November 3 They sold a ton of tickets last night and this morning judging by Ticketmaster. I checked how many were available yesterday and there were at least a couple thousand.

Tracker Posted November 3 Report Posted November 3 13 hours ago, Nolby said: Man, they're quite cocky over there right now. They played a decent game, nothing scary, we aint BC. Riders managed to get very, very lucky. Harris is playing some of the best he have ever played and has been hale since he came back, but I still believe, given his age and history, he is brittle and a couple of solid hits are likely to take him out. Unfortunately, we do not seem to have the homicidal front seven to make that likely. Wanna-B-Fanboy and Noeller 1 1

From what I’ve seen it’s a lack of called run plays. If the other team is stacking the box I don’t mind it so much, so long as there’s a good repertoire of short passes counter d line pressure. Then once the backers and secondary creep up to the line, you can stretch the field on double moves. Bigblue204 and Piggy 1 2
JuranBoldenRules Posted November 3 Report Posted November 3 This is the game Lawler has to dominate. Very similar scheme to what they just played vs Montreal but less blitzing. Flood half the field and someone will be wide open. Think the 3rd Q vs Montreal. First half of the LDC before Collaros took the head shot. JCon, HardCoreBlue, ddanger and 3 others 3 3

I would for sure take both: Lawler dominating with heavy support from his receiving colleagues.
