Tehedra Posted November 6 Report Posted November 6 Can anyone give me some history on why we have two separate forums for discussing the bombers? This forum has some very knowledgeable and intelligent posters as well as forums.bluebombers.com. I think it would be nice to have everyone in the same forum similar to riderfans.com which gets a lot of discussion and action because it appears to be the single location to go to for rider/cfl news. Is there some kind of history that is preventing the two communities from joining together and allowing for a broader spectrum of discussion? I've been kind of following both forums for some time and just never understood why there are two separate communities. I do understand that some posters post in both; but I think we would see improved dialogue if the communities were not siloed.
Mark H. Posted November 6 Report Posted November 6 Well, no one is stopping people from joining either of the sites. Piggy 1, bigg jay, Rich and 1 other 4

Most of us have been talking football on this board (and ourbombers.com before that) for close to 20 years (just guessing) so why would we stop? RF is not an official team site but if the Riders decided to create a message board tomorrow, do you think RF would just cease to exist? I don't know how that other forum is these days but for me, when it started, I found it was overly-moderated - I know a few people who were banned or had posts deleted just for being (justifiably) critical of the team. It turned me off from that forum and I never went back. Rich and the crew have done a great job (imo) of creating a forum where you can speak your mind freely. You might get called out on your opinion by other posters, but you won't get the ban hammer undeservedly. Just my 2 cents. JCon, HardCoreBlue, Rich and 1 other 2 2
JCon Posted November 6 Report Posted November 6 (edited) If there was a desire to amalgamate the discussion boards, it would have happened naturally over time. Edited November 6 by JCon bigg jay, HardCoreBlue and Piggy 1 2 1

I just took a look there and it's like Surplus Direct and this site is Costco. Noeller 1

I belong to both but I haven't been on the other site in years. I prefer the discussion here. And unless things have changed, the other site looks old & clunky. Mark H. 1
