Lapo has succeeded as a play caller when he's had a head coach prodding him to be aggressive.  He's 1000% not the guy you want deciding to go for it or not, but he can design and call the plays just fine.

Wouldn't say he has a "system."  Obviously everyone has tendencies but as someone designing an offense he is one of the best at matching scheme to talent he has.

All time bad head coach though.

I personally didn't like him as a coordinator either. Am I necessarily correct that he's bad at it, not at all. Just saying if he were to come back as a coach I'm about as happy as booch is when Jake Thomas is in the starting lineup

I think he's actually the right kind of guy to check Collaros a bit.

Worst thing about our O in this era is the complete lack of willingness to run a quicker tempo and more of a ball control style offense when it is dictated by the opponent.

Buck is kind of a "**** yeah, attack it" kind of mentality.  But we don't have the D to support that by turning the ball over and haven't for at least 2 seasons.

Sure, but the Bombers have now lost 8 of the last 10 Grey Cups they have played in.

Lots of failure with the Bombers as well.

I'm not so dense as to not recognize the ultimate goal is to win the Cup...but...I can't can't consider a season where the fans get to see more wins than losses, get to experience a quality product, have a great time and the team wins their division and makes good money...as a failure even if they don't win the ultimate game.

Offence tho still did damage...run was working and Lapo was smart enough to use it...Strev was used good too...running...and in pass game...buck looked like he was throwing darts at a wall hoping something would stick

I called our offense scatter gun today which I think is an apt description. Our plays were all over the place. It sems like we had no game plan. I'm thinking that Buck just called plays with really no rhyme or reason.

Yep...we sure could have used a bit more dink and dunk today...although the few times we tried it it didn't work out so well. Bad throws...bad hands...well covered

Threw Wilson (QB) to the wolves when Zach got hurt. If we had taken care of business down the stretch in the regular season, he could have seen some more action. Dude looked terrible when he was in and should have thrown an INT that was dropped

This is 100% true. And it is one of MOS’ most in enduring, abject failures as a coach. His absolutely incredibly idiotic, stubborn insistence to keep his starters in when we’re up 20 points. Losing absolutely critical reps for the guy behind him. then it absolutely bites you in the ass in the most critical game of the year when your starter gets hurt like tonight, or just doesn’t have his game.

So ******* stupid.

You could have sold me on that last year. 3 in a row and the run as the great Jim Kelly run of the north

It's sad to such an awful embarrassing display of football today.

This team has been inconsistent all year. When the odds makers set the spread I was thinking they were on Crack. This had bust written all over it.

If the receivers make the catches that are there to be made are we complaining that loudly about the game plan? Ol held up well enough, before he sliced his finger open collaros was giving guys the opportunity to make plays...

The play calling (or decisions by Zach, or both) was like me when I’m losing at Madden. Just “**** it, run 4 verts again”

Yeah this year was the turd in the punchbowl, for sure. We certainly got lucky that many other teams were dealing with their own punchbowl problems. They still fought and came out on top but were, unfortunately, exposed in their final games against the East. Can only hope this will be the ultimate wake-up call for the org.

I see this team falling off a cliff if we just keep bringing back the coach's favourite old vets even if they can't play anymore. We could be 4-14 in a couple of seasons.

Given some of the off season decisions that have been made re: who we've kept and who we've allowed to get away...and some real head scratching in season coaching decisions...that is not out of the realm of possibility and just whistling past the graveyard won't make those issues disappear.

Outside of Lawler, we didn’t have the personnel for that either.

Not that it's worth anything at this stage but I noticed Lucky wore yellow-coloured gloves for the first half then changed them for blue gloves to start the second. First kick return he fields with the blue gloves, he fights the ball and fumbles. Later, for the rest of the game, goes back to the yellow gloves. I imagine next year it will just be gardening gloves.

The way they played, I'm surprised they didn't wear garbage mitts.
