With Strev already out, when Zach got hurt we were screwed. Most teams are screwed if their top 2 QBs are out. Unless the D and specials can score some points (see the Argos) Buck had 2 months to prepare Dolegala to learn the offence, there is no excuse for not being better prepared for Zach to leave the game, which he had to do multiple times this past season. rebusrankin, wbbfan and Deiter Fan 1 2

We had every bit as good a chance with our backups vs a starter who clearly could not throw the ball. A good leader sets up his people to succeed. With this boneheaded decision, O'Shea set up Collaros and the rest of the team to fail. One has to ask why he thought a qb with a damaged hand was a better option than a fully functioning backup, who in theory, is there for exactly this sort of situation. A genuine question I would like to ask MOS and crew is other than short yardage and your starting QB unable to go because physically he can't return due to serious injury, what circumstances do you and your coaching staff use to determine there is a need to make a switch at QB in-game? For sure there's a better way in asking this question, but is it reasonable to ask this flavor of question without being mocked that I think I know more than MOS and his crew know? I think it's a reasonable question to receive some specifics even if we have made 5 GC appearances in a row (hopefully 6 next year) which I am forever thankful. I am a Rider fan, wasn't even going to watch the GC but did because I am a CFL fan. I really want to smugly comment on your team's performance but can't because I too have felt the pain. I do feel compelled to offer an alternative to the narrative I'm seeing expressed. 'The West Final gassed your team.' I watched the WF, the way the Bombers played, fed off the crowd, like damn, the highest of highs. They came out flat in the GC, with the exception of a few. My opinion with no skin in the game. I cannot accept that the Bomber played that poorly in the Cup game because they played so well against the Greenies- that ought to have gotten absolutely pumped against the Argos. wbbfan and Noeller 2

If you find any player like that, he’s the first guy to get rid of imo. No matter the rest of the details. That was the biggest thing I didn’t like about maas as a player. His contentment to sit behind ray and be qb2 for life was pathetic. 17to85 1

Maas was injured and in and out of the lineup in both 2002 and 2003, was the undisputed starter in 2004 when Ray was in the NFL, was the backup to Ray for all of 2005, and then he peaced out to the TiCats in 2006. After flaming out as the TiCat starter, he bounced around the league after that, even refusing to report to Montreal were he would've been Calvillo's backup. Maybe you're thinking of Drew Tate, who seemed extremely content to be the #2 in Calgary? Edited 8 hours ago by johnzo

He played 18 games a year for his first 7 seasons. He was open about being happy to back up ray in 02 when he lost the spot, 03, and 05. Then he went back to back up ray in 08, 09, and 10. 108 games played with Ricky ray, 7 starts. He was very open about being content to be qb2.

Yup i agree and if Streveler was healthy i believe that would of been it for Zac. It comes down to a hurt Zac over Wilson or Dolegala and MOS rolled the dice. T.O was using a guy nobody else wanted so it definitely was more than just our QB. We just were not good enough. johnzo, Noeller and wbbfan 3
