I think the mood is more not wanting to lose than wanting to win. Wanting to enjoy prep rather than being tireless. 
 They built it, they achieved the goal twice. It feels like they are very complacent to maintain it rather than tear it up and rework it every year to make it better. I also don’t think that is equal across the mafia. No chance does wade have that. Or Jy imo. Walter’s has some, mos has a lot, buck has nothing else. 

 

Agree with this. I’m trying to choose my words carefully as I don’t want to oversimplify it, but it seems like the past 3 years, the organization has made just getting to the cup an achievement award week/ fun road trip of sorts. I got the impression from interviews that it was more about “soaking it in”  and “getting to spend another week with the guys” than preparing to play as they would during the regular season.

We can only hope. Buck seems to be reasonably intelligent and as a former QB. he ought to be able to recognize what the opposing defence is doing and figure out how to counter it.

JY is clearly an intelligent DC, but only has access to what MOS gives him, I can’t imagine JY is in favour of starting Kyrie Wilson over Cole. Could also see JY being the guy that wants to get Adams on the roster.

Kyrie was surprisingly fine I thought. We he's on, he's one of the best LBs in the league. He had that one moment where he slipped up...but in the end he's teammates bailed him out.

Love Kyrie, because of injuries he's never received the accolades he's deserved, probably on the down slope now but happy to see him back if he's willing to share his position with a younger WIL and help out whenever he can.  Same sentiment for BA, neither were ever big salary guys.

it has become too comfortable and leisure land here....grit and grind guys were not retained, or replaced...well not enough of the right ones....and well we got soft and weak

I'd be pissed an ys I would speak up about it....answers need to be heard/explained....if coaches even have a valid one....and trust me....he is not the only player upset...miffed...mad...call it what you want

I'd like to see a reporter here....grow a set and invite the coach/coaches for a sit do a fireside chat....with the questions and observations many have had....and have them answer them....and or justify things....that be very very interesting...and telling....

On the flip side, a team that has been in 5 straight Grey cups obviously something is working well. 

Some of y'all are way too worked up. So.e changes need to happen but it's not as bad as all that.

Nailed it. Tbh this isn’t nearly as worked up as the previous Two cups.

nope...I think deep down many expected this....I know I did....was pretty vocal about it

But it's a blessing....cause if we woulda fluked it out despite everything....we would be going status quo....running back with prob 80 to 90 percent of the dead weight....no change in how we do anything...Osh will get accolades and applause and more insulation from accountability....and we will be just that much further behind in transition and continuity.....and so much closer to an epic fall from grace....missing the playoffs and going 6 and 12 or something like that

To an extent, similar to how this year was. How much remains we will see. I think guys like biggie and Thomas are the canaries in the mine for how much the status quo remains the same.

I desperately want Bighill to retire and become a coach. I don't want him on any other team (not because of his play sadly, but he's been absolutely awesome in the community in WPG. Especially around youth sports) and I don't want him playing on the bombers. Hopefully he realizes the $$ just isn't there and that coaching is his best way to stay around the sport.

Yup. My hope is he takes a coaching player role that doesn’t dress like the goat did his final season. He’s about as useful at lber as wade miller these days.

What worries me about Biggie is that his rehab is supposed to take him to like September so they may look at the cap savings by having him on the injured list most of the season and think it's a good deal for the club.

That would be ideal...let him do waht Miller did as a un-official coach to transition to it full-time in 2026.....and 6 game him all yr, and late season if we need an injury replacement here and there...or roster allows for him to be a DA for teams and situational reps....without hand-cuffing us elsewhere....then have at er....but his days as the defacto MLB are in the rear view

I'd just be worried they will just hand him back the MLB spot when he's healthy.  Having him as a plan B in case of an injury is fine, I just don't want him to be plan A once he's ready to go again.

Thats where Walter's and Miller....His bosses' need to say....We are going with youth/better....but we will carrying him for mentorship and or injury depth....if we are in dire need.....and if you aren't in agreement....we will not re-sign him....no more tail wagging the dog

Rumours on X today that Goveia & McManus both leaving for Hamilton with McManus GM & Goveia as Asst GM doing what he was doing here.

We can survive as an organization losing Buck to the Lions as HC. But can we survive losing McManus, Goveia & Pierce all together at once?

Tony Jones is a FA, they'll likely sign him for 2 years at a little over $100k, Kyrie range, Biggie can give it another go, but they'll have Jones locked in and loaded ready to go if he falters.

I wouldn’t be soo fast with jones. Unless they think his range on pass pro can be improved he’s really a 1 down backer.

Jones had some good games in the season but didn't have a great GC from what I saw so I hope they have a full open competition or spend some cash on good FA (not sure who'd be available though).
