Agreed....but WJ has never put a gun to the Bombers head and I think suggesting he would is complete disinformation.  He loves it in the Peg, is his own agent, and is highly unlikely to be a guy that bolts to the highest bidder. If he leaves, it would be because we lowballed him.

Willie has taken less to stay here before, but he also had an interesting tweet after the season ended where he said "Last years price ain't the same price!!!!".

Obviously, that's open for interpretation but it might mean he's looking for a bigger payday that I'm not sure his play this season has earned (aside from GC where he was great).  Last years Willie ain't the same Willie so what do you pay for next year?

who said put a gun to anyone's head?...and also disinformation because....you aren't in the know....or have anti-bias from who posts something?...Interesting enough....if you look back I mentioned his original deal hear....salary and yrs before it was publicized, so contrary to what you...and a few others like to believe and pump...some people kicking around here do have a lil more knowledge and access to info that the common fan

and yea he loves it here but also is in golden yrs of his career now and this likely to be his last bigger cheque, unless he has a huge yr in 2025...then he is getting his bucks up for 2026......he may also see/feel the vibe that he is gonna be saddled with lack luster talent around him (again) and that will get his bucks down.....hmmmm.....he also can still have Winnipeg as his home base and yet not play here....

I am not opposed for us paying Willie what he deserves for one or two more seasons.   He was the only one generating any sort of pressure up front last season... had he any sort of help on the line then I think his numbers would of been much better.

Betts salary of $260k may have set him off, as last season he was paid $200k according to 3DN.  He deserves a swack of promo money even if his play no longer justifies a raise, Willie, Brady and Zach are the 3 most recognizable faces on the team with Willie being the most vocal cheerleader for the franchise.

My perspective is that WJ would need to be ready to just leave in order to not come back. What's he going to get from another team that he can't get here? Money? Bombers have as much or more incentive to pay him big bucks... chance at a cup? Well 5 straight appearances his chances here seem as good as anywhere... so why is he leaving? Unless he's come down with O'Shea derangement syndrome like certain people around here have...

Sure...but it does happen to lets say trainers or even just friends in the city...who have other clients/friends who also like the bombers and they get chatting and things are talked about. I know this from personal experience.

Sure....it can happen with people close to and trusted by the player. These are professionals, they know that what they say and what they do can easily end up as talking points on social media or even in the press. They receive this training as players, and are very careful about what they say, and to whom they say it, outside the dressing room. They aren't sitting around airing out team laundry as the public observes.

to think that these guys won’t vent to the public from time to time is crazy lol especially when you realize Booch isn’t really the “common public” to them, he’s a guy they see probably multiple times every week at the gym.

not to be rude....but you dont know much...I have relations with many players...coaches..trianers....believe it or not...which you dont....but man you sure get offended easily

I know for 100 percent factthat there were many disgruntled players....they will toe the line tothe press....random events....but people who get off the record exchanges with them having no fear of it being in press...thats a different cat...and to think at his age and point in career...that he isnt going to see what he could get elsewhere is probably one of the more brain dead comments here....take it for what YOU wid=sh...ye of the ol sage knowledge and always right assumption....but you are wrong....a lot....

some key board warriors with zero ties to the game...current and past, and have never had any football experience other than high school I would assume in any capacity just don't like the truths

I knew also Schoen was likely to be played in Grey Cup but didt mention it as the "players" who told me said to keep it under wraps...and "the players" also shook their heads about it and said it was not the smart move

I remember like probably about 15 years ago (christ I am old) I was at a social at Oak Park and Mike Richards was there. He went out to the parking lot and I walked by and said “hey Flyers suck!” and he called me and a buddy over and said yeah they do suck I hate it there I wanna get traded, gave me a Pabst Blue Ribbon and we shot the **** for five minutes before we grabbed a picture and went on our way.

He got traded like a month later.
