He went out to the parking lot and I walked by and said “hey Flyers suck!” and he called me and a buddy over and said yeah they do suck I hate it there I wanna get traded, gave me a Pabst Blue Ribbon and we shot the **** for five minutes before we grabbed a picture and went on our way. He got traded like a month later. Reading this I'm like why would a former Bomber care about a reference that Flyers suck? What am I missing? Was he a Flyers fan back in the day? Than I'm like well that's because it's Michael Richardson. Mike Richards is a former NHL'r. Ahhhhh. How did you even recognize the guy? Oh and btw the Flyers continue to suck to this day!
17to85 Posted 19 hours ago Report Posted 19 hours ago The other aspect is that sometimes venting and grumbling is just that... as an example I'll go ***** about my workplace but I'm still overall happy here and no real designs on leaving. Point? None I guess, just that context is everything and we all apply our own biases to all the information we are presented with. Arnold_Palmer, Bigblue204, BigBlueFanatic and 3 others 4 2

I'm perfect at being unbiased and me writing this in response to the bolded part above proves that. 🙂

It's probable that players do all of that for sure but it ain't happening in the public gym for Joe Q Public to go run his gams about it online afterwards. Twenty five years ago I was good friends with a CFL Head Coach & he gave me the dirt on the team. Players & coahes he liked, disliked & even trades coming down the pike. He trusted me to shut up & say nothing. I knew more about the team than the media guys covering it. I never said a word to anyone when he told me something. But I would have been the exception & not the rule. Others would have started rumours so I disagree with you. Players talk. Coaches talk.
Brandon Posted 14 hours ago Report Posted 14 hours ago The only dirt I had was from nearly 20 years ago about how disgusting a certain french olineman was (i.e. loved to blow snot rockets inside their apartment) all while not showering for days at a time leaving the place smelling rancid.

Twenty five years ago there wasn't social media. Teams weren't coursing guys on shutting the hell up. They are now. I used to be one of the owners of a popular Bomber player watering hole until a few years ago. Had many great conversations with many of the players, they were very guarded as to what they would share and what they wouldn't share and NO ONE talked contract in public. NO ONE. They vented, they discussed a lot of things, but anything that belonged in the dressing room stayed in the dressing room. If someone looked like he was about to spill some beans after a few beers, he quickly got pulled aside by team mates or the subject was very quickly changed by another team mate. Sure they would make little comments about being frustrated by this or that, or how they were hoping to get a better contract next time...but that's as far as any conversation ever went. bigg jay 1
Mark H. Posted 26 minutes ago Report Posted 26 minutes ago It gets deeper and deeper....someone here is going to hit the water table...pretty soon
