17to85 Posted November 25 Report Posted November 25 Hell keep an American rb on the pr if need be. Oliveira gets hurt we can flip the ratio easy enough. Tracker and wbbfan 2

Guy has remarkable longevity for not really doing anything other than checking off the "backup canadian rb" box. Have to give the guy props for developing him self late in his career into a competent teams guy, going from an abysmal blocker to average or a bit better, and for finding another gear as a runner while being able to accelerate much quicker. If he had gotten that kind of development while in college his career as a pro would’ve been very different. I respect the guys tenacity, work ethic, toughness and strength. A lot of guys could use an ounce of what he’s got. He may well be picked up by another team, especially if they try to flip the ratio at rb. Toronto would be a good candidate if they want to go onto adebobye. Or mtl with ste, or bc with jeshrun. 17to85, Piggy 1, bb1 and 2 others 5
CodyT Posted November 25 Report Posted November 25 What does a typical OC get paid in the CFL? What does a TSN analyst get paid?

But part time less for sure. Coaching pay in the cfl varies wildly with the coaching cap and multiple titles. Cap is 2.5m and 11 guys, 25 with management. we run 16 guys for an average of 156k. But mos, walters, Danny, and Ted easily combine for more than half the cap. Which leaves about 100k on average for the rest. I imagine top COs likely get 250-300k. Maybe 400-500k for ast hc types. The more ast hc and ast gm types the harder it is to pay other guys. I wonder if the coaching cap has a minimum. Tracker 1
Noeller Posted November 26 Report Posted November 26 Ya don't quote me, but I believe the CFL On TSN is its own product that TSN airs. The people working on it are, essentially, freelancers. I have no idea what the rates are in that situation, or how much Lapo would be making. My sizeable gut tells me that working on the broadcasts would pay well... The offseasons are less work than being a coach.... I'd bet an HC makes more, but coordinators likely make less. If Lapo owns his YouTube content outright (and isn't subsidiary to Bell/TSN) and gets enough followers, that can pay fairly well, as well....

He’s got a long row to hoe for it to be an income stream. So far as I know the main guys like matty, milt, and Sanchez don’t have any big side hustle or day job. I bet those guys are making decent money. The some times crowd like the coaches, maybe not so much. At the same time if the money stank they’d be coaching at another level right? Noeller 1

Was gonna say...Augustine has really developed into a well rounded and more than just an average ST guy. Typical example of a Canadian trained kid needing extra yrs in the CFL to actually develop if allowed to. Had he went the NCAA route he would have came in so much further ahead and likely grabbed a starting role somewhere or at the least a guy who got 5 to 10 non garbage time touches a game. But in order for us to surround ZC with Uber talent for him to succeed as it's basically a certainty we hitching wagon to him...and at this point he needs a solid...vet/familiar group around him it prob means Augustine will hit the market. Interesting convo on Winnipeg Sports Talk with Hustler and Hamilton today in regards to things that have failed us...and touching on management mismanagement and that it appears Osh has too much say/control than he should...and it's hurting us due to his way of going about stuff...I couldn't agree more and see that too...and in convo with some people related to team have heard that sentiment too. It's definitely an issue that needs to be corrected...if anything adresssed...if you look it up on YouTube it's worth a listen for the Bomber discussions wbbfan and Tracker 2

Had soo much potential and the drive to achieve it. CFL really needs to boost the grass roots development up here we have a couple hot spots but other wise it’s tough for kids to get good opportunities and develop ill have to check that out, sounds like some good stuff. rebusrankin, Booch and Noeller 2 1
rebusrankin Posted November 26 Report Posted November 26 Milt likely still has per diem money from his playing days to help him out. In all seriousness, believe he has rental properties in Cincinatti and Atlanta and he likely invested well. His wife also has/had a pretty good job with Home Depot as I recall.

Stickem Posted November 26 Report Posted November 26 Doesn't Milt have an interest in a couple of Car wash spots in Atlanta as well....I don't think the turtle man is hurting financially in any way

Maybe he’s had surgery and doing better (I want to say it was hip or knee issues) He loves Winnipeg too. He’s coached here for what 9-10 seasons? Interesting to say the least. 2 minutes ago, 17to85 said: He was semi-retired but not of his own choice... Bombers made younger DC to not lose him and told Ritchie Hall he was stepping aside. 17to85 Posted November 26 Report Posted November 26 I never got the sense Ritchie Hall was going to retire on his own. Even O'Shea when they bumped up Younger said it was a case of needing to promote him or lose him to someone else. So there you have it. Mike O'Shea, pragmatic and willing to tell over the hill aging veterans it's time to make way for the younger, hungrier options..... Blue-urns and Noeller 2

Goalie Posted November 26 Report Posted November 26 That Walters presser gives me some hope. The part that scares me is everybody wants to continue to play football so that means we need to move on from a few. I think Kyle knows this. Noeller and rebusrankin 2
