The mere fact that Ayers is getting lots of looks, and in limited time showed excellent football skill...I.Q and instincts...plus athleticism out the wazzo....yet wasnt allowed to play and develop all yr like the ROY in Edmonton got to do is further proof that our way has flaws....we stagnate/block guys...favor older player for no apparent reason other than they been here longer.....and or or HC seriously has a talent evaluation issue...we definitely meed to change the way we operate to a certain extent

Even with Ford before he left for the NFL....was apparent he had the skills...tools to develop into a great player.....but never got the shot...and that one is a real head scratcher as we know Smugs likes to favor and over load his starting 24 with excessive Canadians

Counterpoint: he was given a chance to develop and did get a chance to make the roster and contribute and nowngrts and NFL look.

Player development can look at lot of different ways and just because you have an axe to grind and everything they do is **** doesn't mean you're way is the only way.

Yeah he’s flashed next level game changing play making. With both instincts, athleticism, and tenacity. One play on teams sticks in my head. Where he dove out around a blocker and tied up a returner, who he then finished the tackle on from his knees. Which is really hard to do.
He’s a partial beneficiary of the nfls move to smaller more dynamic out side backers, and des. He could make an nfl team based on return play and effort alone.

I would really love to see him back and in a full time role next year. I think the step forward he would take is huge. And would position him self for a better nfl shot down the road.

I can’t say if ford got a shot down south.  But he certainly seems to soak up coaching at a tremendous level. The improvements he made mid season in 24 were tremendous. Same with his rookie year. He stepped up in a huge way from early on to his late year start.

I think ayers will take a big step next year be it here or in the nfl. 10 more lean pounds could make him unstoppable as well.
Ford I think needs to start. I don’t think he has more to learn from sitting and watching.

Dont have an axe to grind with everything....just the insanely stupid **** we do over and over...if anyone is grinding anything it's you at every post I make that doesnt tickle Oshis's ballsac.....he wasnt allowed one iotta to develop on defense....a rep here and there isnt developing a guy

Same with the wasted bigo card space on Thomas basically 3 yrs running now...we could have integrated and developed 3 defensive guys there going into 2025 alredy, and if they werent cutting it...bring in someone who can....not just roll wit guys who are on down swing...have zero upside and offer not much other than name recognition...

coming from the other anti me axe grinder not surprising comment......coming from 2 guys who I am 99.657% sure have had have no. experience developing...recruiting....training or placing players outside of pop warner football...but I will give credit where it's due are true fans and will defend defend defend even tho the defence has not much a leg to stand on other than ya but....referring to season s in the rear view

he did so many smart and actually astute football things for a Canadian Football rules rookie,...who had never even heard of the game bsially before coming here...imagine where he would have been at by mid-season...back 3rd if he was allowed to play like Nick Anderson in Edmonton...he'd been lights out...already was

Same could be said for Woods and even Adams were allowed majority reps...and utilized effectively.....they would not have hit any wall by mid season like many will chime in here....thats how yu break thru those walls and learn to play at a pro level for a full season....christ Thomas would hit a wall every game by second quarter from over use....but out he trotted...drive after drive....stuff like that just keeps your blue chio guys further behind the curve because they dont get to play....ytou learn more in games and live reps than in what today's practices hae become....glorified walk thru's and skellies

Esp. the number of Friday games. A Bomber game is the best Friday night.

I'm not opposed to Thursday's either... "Don't Give A F*** Fridays" are a big part of my life... But ya, a Friday night at th ol' ballpark is a great start to the weekend. Head to the cottage at VB the next day.... Damn rights.

I kind of cringe when I see it come out. I never look forward to the schedule release any more.
Friday night football is the best. With the schedule I hope for the bad to be minimal but that doesn’t often happen. I never expect much with the cfl schedule any more.
Hate mid week games unless it’s a long weekend. Hate 3 games in 9-14 days. Hate when bye weeks aren’t reasonably well spread out. But since 19 the schedules have been really problematic.

Was he not awful the couple of games when he got in or am I remembering wrong?

Probably remembering wrong, hardly played, hardly had a chance to make mistakes and be noticed, too many good DB's lined up in front of him to be given much of a chance to develop.  Surprised the Riders are interested enough to go after him.

Played two games last year and one before that. Pre season to early year he was rough. Improved a little bit but as a guy who is 26 with two full years and camps plus two full nfl training camps and a full year on an nfl pr, is way behind where he should be. Hasn’t really flashed any thing here.

both McGhee and bridges were panned from camp and early year. Bridges is also an older guy, about to turn 28 going into year two. But he improved through out his time.

Certainly well behind a bunch of guys and got passed by multiple younger less experienced dbs in two years here. Wasted pr spot.

I imagine the riders are going for him thinking our dbs shouldn’t be bad through out, and he has lots of experience and time as a pro. But clearly didn’t take a long hard look at his time in.
They might want to replicate what we do on the back end more and bringing in our end cuts makes that easier.

Some guys sometimes fit better with other teams. Just cuz McGhee wasn’t great or even good here doesn’t mean he doesn’t turn it around in Sask. it’s unlikely because he is what he is but nice to see guys getting chances. It also says the pool of talent willing to come up here isn’t as large as we all think it is.
