Oc is for sure a big deal for us. We have to get that person in place before the legal tampering period imo. Really, asap would be great. Who ever it is they are going to be installing a whole new offence (albeit with some hold overs from previous years.) and they will need to put in a lot of work with zach, and marty.

For my money, Sunderland is among the best guys in the league at scouting front 6 players.

Just never make him the heir apparent to Walters which is a concern of mine.

Loneliness will lead people to doing weird things.   We see lots of similar behaviour online these days with how easy it is for people to contact/connect with people in the eye of the public.

I assume Nate had a bad mixture of being lonely and being narcissitic.

It probably wouldn't be a surprise if he was drinking while he posted as well.

Jauch is a massive score. Very happy with that pick up. Deslauriers is a sneaky good pick up. Im expecting he will lead the canadian scouting. Sunderland is a kind of polarizing guy, thats a big surprise to me. Edit, All 3 get the title of Senior Director of Player Personnel.

Maybe Sunderland can dig up his old pal Jamie Elizondo for the OC job, hasn't been seen since he left the Esks. in 2021.

Nice now let’s get him some help on the DL

And hope he plays with a motor like he did in the grey cup.
His signing this early tells me we probably still gave him elite de money. Wish it would be a more team friendly deal. But if he brings an elite motor elite pay would be ok.

Give him something besides a warm body on the line to work with would be nice.

I think too many people are expecting us to go back to the old 4-3 system with two insane bookended DEs. I don't know a lot about this stuff but it seems to me that with the 3-4 that Younger seems to prefer, it'll be the same as it was last year, not because of lack of talent but just scheme. We're not gonna see the heavy pressure we used to have under Hall... Or that's what I seem to understand if it anyhow.

Also, this seems like more than I was expecting....

He made 200 last season. I’m fine with it.

It'd be nice to have the personnel and ability to play both systems well and be able to mix it up better, sometimes the 3-4 works and sometimes it doesn't.  Don't mind it when it works but having to stick with it through a game when it's not working is painful to watch.

Difference was definitely personnel.  We were used to having guys like Jeffcoat and Sayles who are explosive.  Hall rarely rushed more than 4 and almost never more than 5.  Not like we were running some zone blitz scheme.  We've had the same issue for 2 years now.

Saw a little bit of that from Adams and Woods, but nothing from the edge guys.  Need to do a lot of work recruiting there on both sides of the border and with the Global players.

If you saw the Detroit Lions defense totally take apart the Minnesota Vikings high powered offense last week you'd recognize it was the same style D that we used in 2021 & 22. We didn't need to blitz. Our Front 7 dominated. We had a great front 4 & linebacking crew. We had Jefferson & Jeffcoat on the ends as well as Steve Richardson at DT & we intimidated other teams.

Our secondary was the best in the CFL at  the time because of the players playing in front of them. Now, we have no pass rush, average linebackers when Bighill doesn't play & below average when he does. We are just a shell of what we were. As a team, we spend all our money on offensive players to the point where we let our defense & return game just shrivel up. We have to rebuild our D. Get back to a more physical style of play.

And yet our D was ******* good all season long... there's more than one way to build a good defense. Quite frankly the problems or this team is that for allllllll the money they spend on O it was **** for most of the season. Point fingers there not the D because the D was the only reason last years team did anything.
