Pete Posted February 7 Report Posted February 7 Having 4 higher end recievers Ie lawler Schoen, Mitchell and Demski).doesnt make a lot of sense Theres only one football and it pretty much guarantees 1-2 will be underutilized esp with Zacs tendancy to overuse Lawler. Having White and Sterns gives us better depth against injuries which has been a big issue
Goalie Posted February 7 Report Posted February 7 Honestly. They been to the cup 5 straight years. These are the good times whether you can admit it or not. piss poor management. Honestly. Joe Mack and Mike Kelly say hello. You’re so far gone with your hate of O’Shea that it completely clouds your judgement. Do it my way cuz that’s the only way. rebusrankin, Captain Blue, Rex_Banner and 1 other 3 1

Mike Posted February 7 Report Posted February 7 truth be told, I think if we do suddenly have a bit more cash to play with for a receiver, we’d be better off saving it for Pokey when he comes back edit: let me clarify, I know he’s under contract if he comes back. I’d give him a raise for this year with an extension attached so we can actually lock a guy up long term and not do this song and dance every year I’d also be pushing for Brady (especially) and Schoen extensions HardCoreBlue, rebusrankin, Mark H. and 4 others 3 3 1

Hope we don't have a windfall of money left on the table tho. Love to get these guys wrapped up if possible too tho. 10 minutes ago, Booch said: I agree....forward thing and continuity with young guys is always smart....at least save it to see if he (Pokey) is the real deal tho and do a late season deal if he lighting it up would be my route on that...and if Schoen is back to being Schoen I'm not against leaving some money back for extensions, but we need to spend because every other team is going to. 17 minutes ago, 17to85 said: Kyle walters flat out said in his presser at the end of last year he's trying to win every year. Home Grey cup doesn't change the approach. Kyle Walters might feel that way but Wade Miller is standing around drinking Booster Juice telling Kyle how much he cares about a home Grey Cup. Make no mistake, the stakes are high for Walters on giving us our best shot at our cup THIS year, and of course, that's going to be KWs stance just before FA. Can't let the players know they have an extra bargaining chip because he has to go for bust. Edited February 7 by GCn20

I don't think he needs to be told anything and I don't think Wade Miller is going to start to interfere now. sweep the leg, ddanger and Noeller 2 1

With that extra $400,000, I'd love to see us throw a nice offer to Couture or McEwen so we can upgrade the C spot and move on from Kolo. Booch, Mark H., MOBomberFan and 2 others 1 3 1

auzzstriker Posted February 7 Report Posted February 7 this 400k move at this time was planned all along...new ownership, new attitude and new players...this was all orchestrated in favor of getting the Elks back healthy again, and bringing those fans they lost back to the park. the Edmonton regime new it was gonna go down this way, that's why they bought up the talent on day one. the main 3 have always propped up this league...us,Sask and Edm....we need Edmonton back healthy again...i just wish it didn't cost us so much to do it. Walters will have bank left over to cover whatever IR anomalies they encounter, plus the ability to re-up players he wants to keep before they hit FA next year with whatever is left. Forecast accounting is difficult and very stressful, if Walters can dump his pockets at the end of the season and come out even, I'm sure he'd prefer that to fidgeting over incongruent numbers at year end till his brain bleeds. Usually when you have a higher budget, you spend more money. I'd be very surprised if now that he has an extra 400 k that he will just ignore that extra money and stick to the smaller budget. No kidding. But according to Goalie, Walters will just sit on all this money throwing $100 bills around like $100 lb rocks. Maybe he'll use that money to redecorate his office. 3 minutes ago, BigBlue said: Is our CB Ford gone or can we still get him back?
