I just keep looking at it from the perspective that we’ve got fresh energy. We’ve got new guys coming in, guys bringing new ideas, fresh energy, fresh juice… sometimes that stuff’s needed, man. You go to five straight Cups, you lose three… that’s hard and you need some fresh juice in there to bring a fresh perspective because it can’t just be the same thing over and over again.”

Somebody gets it and see's things thru the right perspective lens....hopefully parts of our coaching staff does too

Most interesting thing I found was that Strev had a broken rib in his first start that really limited what he could do after. It seemed apparent he was injured, now we know. Fully healthy, this guy can still truck.

yeah was apparent he was not right after that game....and basically team inflicted injury....and we kept just doing it to him

And makes sense that his short yardage plunges were not as succesful...and even how he went about it was not Strevesque...injury to the core...in that role....you have pretty limited ability to do it...let alone power

He hid it about as well as one could, but it was very apparent something wasn't right.

treveler wanted to make sure he wasn’t walking into a similar situation as last year.

“Things happened last year where it just didn’t work out the way that I think anyone envisioned it would, on a lot of different fronts,” Streveler said, adding he’s excited to see what Hogan can do. “I’ve had some really good discussions with people, specifically within the Bombers. Had I not had those conversations with someone and felt excited, it would have probably been a different conversation, right?”

erce seemingly unwilling to show any unique looks for Streveler. That seemed especially odd for an offence that struggled for much of the year, particularly early on, and could have used the spark.

“I don’t really know why things went the way they went, to be honest with you. All I can tell you, from my perspective, is I broke a rib in the Ottawa game when I started, and maybe that that kind of hurt things a little bit,” Streveler said. “I was fine. I didn’t miss any time, didn’t miss any games. But I couldn’t really give you a great answer as to why things went the way they went, and that’s why I needed to have those conversations going into free agency. I think that there’s definitely a role that if I’m not starting, to do what we did in 2018 and ’19 and give a change of pace and add a different element. I know I can still do that.”

Streveler said his rehab is way ahead of schedule; when he first got injured, doctors were projecting almost a year to reach full health, but Streveler said he is well on track to be ready for training camp in May. He’s already able to run and jump and has been throwing the ball three or four days per week, all while showcasing a positive attitude.

IT was apparent as hell....and for short yardae duty....injury to core like that....good luck...Supreme respect for him being the warrior and not complaining

Again tho....this is just another incident of Osh running out injured guys in lieu of healthy...even tho they all number 1's...who's to say we park him on the 6 game a bit....heal him up an he misses that BB game where injured...and IS available at 100 percent in the play-offs........I hope Osh has smartened up with injured guys and rosters capable back-ups through out line up

I just dont get th mindset of being content anf happy with...adequate...or hope we can get by with maybe 6 to 8 reps without much drop off....why not damn...I wish we had more reps to give said backup cause he killing it...thats the world I come from and dont get this compacency and attitude of settling...just cause

we probably trade him for a conditional 7th round pick now. Then end up needing a LS next year

No joke. Any other league a guy going through that would be screaming.

Strev is a top tier guy football and in general. His work ethic, mental toughness, and team first mentality is incredible. He is going to find success as a starting QB. Just need to stop handicapping him.

Based on what, nothing?  Likely scenario Strev. goes .500 as a starter, crushes his body doing so and within 6 games sustains major injury and ends up on the 6 game.  No team is going to make him #1, might as well anoint Dustin Crum as a starter, he's stayed healthier and accumulated better stats on a worse team.

yup....he's a key leader here...and hopefully his comments are foreshadowing that it will be different now....finally....Let him grow and next yr a 1/2 combo of him and Wilson athe top of the QB room would be a good set-up...and affordable...I could care less who is number 3 at that point....take a flier on some insane athlete for that role

well...your basing your opinion on the lunacy we used in regards to him....let him be a QB....and yeah...Crum got to play QB too....not fullback

Based on his exceedingly rare combination of tangible assets and intangible ones. As was pretty clearly alluded to in my post.

Likely based on what exactly?

Strevy got hammered here twice in the past because of usage. As has also been explained repeatedly here by many people. Even strevelers own quotes.

Crum is a good back up QB. He put up more, WORSE stats on a worse team. Not better stats. Crum put up less Tds, and more than twice as many turn overs. That isn't better lol

Don't want Crum or Strev. starting, why waste time on QB's with low potential of winning games consistently, neither will ever become a #1 and it would be painful to watch a team try to make it happen.  Suffered enough through the likes of Alex Brink and Justin Goltz to know it's probably not going to work out well.

With competition in the West rising, you honestly think Strev replaces Zach next season and they still make the playoffs?  Would that be worth betting the farm on?

If Strev is starting next season it'll free up a decent amount of $$ to spend else where. The highest paid QB hasn't won a GC in quite sometime.

Could you imagine if people stuck with Fajardo, built a team and system around him that complimented him well. Nah that wouldn't work. I mean the guy has been nothing but a short yardage specialist/3rd stringer basically his entire career.

You keep saying you think Osh is a great coach and that you never said he should be fired, then talk out your ass like that. Which is it? Pick a lane. If you think he should be fired say so. At least it will be honest. If you think he should not be fired why make a comment like that one?

Think about it...the Last 2 Grey Cups have been won with the highly favoured team losing to a Faj...and a Fatty Arbuckle....they highlyfavoured team also lost to a Looney toony MBT and sex predator Kelly......over the highest paid QB in the league...why...each winning team tailored game plans to suit thier QB and put them in best position to win and proper "healthy" tools to use....while the favoured team did same ol same ol...tried pounding a square peg in a round hole when it was obvious it wasnt working...and neither put their players in best position to win or supply adequate healthy tools to make a plan work...A healthy Strev...heart...guts and tangible and intangible traits...with a solid cast...and good coaching...will win way more games than he loses you

You can take that to the bank.....
