Only need 7 the 8th is a fake national american which Bryant qualifies for as does Nichols and Jefferson.

Dline much the same...we have 2 ends who we know can play....thats it....2 promising interior guys who we know are gonna be getting reps taken away by drip and drop Canadians.....sure we have Lawson back which helps, but anyone with half a brain and knows the man love Osh has for Thomas that he gonna get more than too many reps in lieu of him...Our dline as much as many claim that Haba and Garbutt and Fox were no loss...is a lot weaker

Not sure what the plan is, but to me looks like there wasnt much of one and we didnt pursue anyone to shore up our lines.....or.....we lost out on players not named Ceresna because they flat out didnt wanna come here....or.....Osh indicated to Walters that " we good"...I leaning more to the "we good" side until proven otherwise after camp and maybe he makes the tough cuts

This is Walters time of year. He is 100% responsible for who we keep, who we lose, and who we sign. Your hatred of MOS in this knows no bounds. This time of year is 100% on the GM.  Once TC open then it's on the HC. No HC is going to ever tell his GM that we good. He will want all the talent the GM can find/sign then sort them out in TC.

We will find out what kind of hawks we have now.

Jim Jauch is pretty much considered one of the best receiver bird dogs out there, and has brought in some good talent for the Lions

DesLauriers will be our NAT guy primarily. He and Walters will be scouting the CIS a lot. Not much of a resume for DesLauriers yet and this may be the biggest area of concern from last year. This was Goveia's wheelhouse with the Bombers.

Brock Sunderland was well regarded enough as a recruiter of talent to earn himself an assistant GM job followed by a GM chance. He is a horrible GM.....but the man has an undeniable eye for talent.

Honestly, the trio we picked up is probably far better at IMP recruitment than the duo we lost but KW is going to have to dust off his scouting hat again for us to keep pace at NAT recruitment.

Nothing wrong with DesLauriers resume, he's only 43, he played 9 years with the Als and spent the last 8 years working in their front office.

Deslauriers retired as a player in February 2016 but stayed with the Alouettes as a football operations assistant and scout.[1] He was named as the team's Player Personnel Coordinator on July 18, 2019 shortly after the dismissal of the team's general manager, Kavis Reed.[2] He was promoted to Director of Football Operations after the 2019 Montreal Alouettes season on December 18, 2019.[3]

Lawler is not the highest-pain non-QB in the league. Ceresna got an identical amount, for one.

I understand saying the "right things" to make a good impression with your new team.  But come on now,   I'd imagine Hamilton would be in the bottom 3 for odds of winning the Cup this year.

I think the issue here is with the CFLPA. They haven't determined yet if the influx of money will go to player salaries or if they will allocate it other ways (pension, playoff money, training camp pay etc).

Walters is wise not to spend the money until he knows is actually available.

Freisen put his own spin on it as well;

Yeah, real smart until the losing comes & the screaming starts. Tha announcement of the increase in the salary cap was made official by both the CFL & CFLPA. Do you really think the CFLPA will suddenly change its mind & take that or a portion of that salary cap increase away? And if they do, how can teams be held financially accountable after it was formally announced?

So, for all of you who claim they know how the cap works (Like Mike here & others) who scolded me that I don't  when I questioned how things were being operated earlier, you have no better idea how things work than anyone else here. But thanks for stopping by & telling me I know nothing when you don't either.

I really like this signing, Makonzo has a big upside. Can backup Kramdl or safety. Question mark is his ability to bounce back from injury, but likely why we got him on I assume a cap friendly amount. Low risk high reward

Football is supposed to be fun and take your mind off real world problems. Perhaps you need to remember that. You’re gonna send yourself to the grave going on about things that really don’t matter.

The losing hasn’t started and you are already going on so when it comes you should be quiet right? But what if they win?
