My neighbourhood soccer team was a little tougher than yours. We kids had a choice between Crown Royal & a 7up. None of that sissy diet stuff. Or we could have a beer like Molson Canadian. If we won, the best player on the field got a pack of smokes. Export A Plain. Hey, it was the 1960's. We played in the fog on our bikes wearing no bike helmets or masks when they sprayed DDT for mosquitos in the summer. And no one made us stop.

That's a mock that severely underrates a decent class of athletic and available U Sports linemen.  The OL/DL who came to the combine largely performed very well.  Anderson is going to drop past some guys that no one will see coming.

Qft. It’s not the type of ol draft that people want, like last year, it is the type the league and teams need though. A few teams are gonna get Canadian ol that play some this year and anchor lines for years to come.

This obsession with QBs going early in mocks needs to stop.

Right? I like a couple guys but no one 4th round high. Not for any team.

Walters ever not prioritize the OL/DL with one of his first couple picks? Legitimately curious because I can't remember. Seems like there's always a lineman of some type taken early by walters.

Maybe once in the cancelled season? And that was an aberration where we kept trying to get more teams guys.

A DB and a QB with our first two picks... My stars....

and then a rb and a wr lol.
We can take guy later in the draft at db or rb if we want that. And later for a qb, where we don’t really have a spot imo for another qb project.
We could swing in the upper middle picks for a wr, but we also might do that late in the draft. Of all those positions, wr is where I’d take a guy higher. But not at the cost of a target linemen. I think we look at two linemen in the top 4/5 rounds.

Winnipeg Blue Bombers post 2024 operating profit of $7 million – Winnipeg Free Press

A profit increase of over 20% from 2023 despite having more expenses last year.

Soo impressive. Saw the corporate partnerships almost equaled the gate revenue. Which is crazy. Wade has the team in the best place fiscally, and in terms of infrastructure that it’s ever been. Especially when you consider where most teams stand in that sense.
When it comes to bomber builder/front office types, he’s the goat.

Two opinions;

One great news, on the financials, Miller and team with the product we have has been fantastic!

That mock draft, a WR, QB, DB and RB in the top four.......really..... I think we need at least on OL/DL near the top, a WR, RB and DB are fine if best athlete available as I could see the fit but as our top picks....I am also not understanding all the love for the QB's....but time will tell if GM's agree with me or not....

But again fantastic news on just how successful Miller and the team have been

I'm 45 and just starting to get over similar trauma. Ha ha.

As for the financials, I'm just filled with so much pride. I ******* love this organization so ******* much... I'm so proud to be a STH.... Jacked to get back to the barn this summer.

That is awesome. We all know these financial ups & downs are cyclical. The question is how long can the team continue to make $$$ before the downturn inevitably comes.

Miller can be a hard ass to negotiate with but how the hell did he get the soccer league to pick up Valour's expenses?

I thought that BC was docked their first two picks? The brainiacs have them picking at 11

Yeah, for some reason they lost the 1st pick of round 2 (which they received from Calgary for Adams) instead of their own pick.

Designated American!

Bombers should draft all of rourke, tachinsky, Desjardins, elgersma, Sénécal, hall and rooker.
That way we can corner the market on Canadian qb prospects and bend the league to our will. Or atleast make the national media and suitor say good things about us and our players.

Suitor would call them the Canadian Armed Forces.
