Last season was Sask or BCs chance, they imploded but partially cuz we made them cuz when things matter we beat them and they know it. 5 straight years of owning the west. Until someone beats us, odds are we represent the west again. And either the greatest moment in Winnipeg sports history occurs and we win at home or the worst and we lose our 4th straight cup at home. The only thing bigger than bombers winning the grey cup in 25 is the jets winning game 7 in Winnipeg in June. That’s it.

he also thjo will ask/influence and make a case to retain guys who shouldnt too...goes both ways...But agree it's mainly up to the G.M in who he brings in....does a coach...and not just here always keep the right giys?....thats a discussion all in itself

Walter's tho seems to be sleep walking this yr and signing some guys with a lot of hopium needing to cash in for it to be viewed as a smart and savy move...TBD

I really did enjoy Goofy and his goof troops crazy antics as a young lad. 
 

put a K instead of an F tho then it’s a problem I think. But until autocorrect does that. Goof is good.

you keep going on with the yeah but we went to 5 cups....I get it...that "can" be viewed as sucess I guess....why dont you focus on we have stumbled and failed miserably in 3 striaght yrs....due to mainy for no lack of argument the same several issues....and focus on tht and maybe see why things could be tweaked....switched up....phylosophy's changed...maybe a new way of player management/use....which means having adequate depth and actually using them when injury requires it...or faltering play

You say a reason is guys were hurt all yr...well where's the depth then?...Other teams had guys hurt too..Heck we got beat in the Grey Cup by a guy nobody wanted...and has had a career of basically nothing...B.C imploded because their HC trashed the room....Sask mainly from a couple dumb Mace decisions and 3 big break downs in their secondary.....coaching faux pas....we then lost a Gret Cup with some dumb HC decions...and some of our own faux pas.....bad coaching when it mattered

Because I’m a fan and have no say and 5 straight cups is better than not 5 straight cups regardless of what the vocal minority say. It’s really that simple. As a fan I have been entertained for 5 plus years now. 
 

but I guess being Hamilton who hasn’t won forever or Calgary who has an owner who don’t GAF or Sask who have 3 cups in their entire history would be better. I dunno. Maybe I remember cheering for really bad bombers teams in hindsight growing up. Are you kidding me? 1 cup appearance was a victory every 10 years really.

all i trying to say is stop looking back....look forward and learn from past failures and what did you in...we as an organization havnt the last 3 yrs...and some fans arent either....2021 is eons ago in sports

For real though, I would not suggest calling any stranger a goof. In certain Prison to street, outlaw, and service circles people get maimed and killed over that. Not joke. In those circles goof is the worst thing you can call some one.

yeah I was saying that not to be a penicular device...Just a word of caution and advice from real world experience knowledge...as odd as it seems.....that word is a real no-no and can be very offensive in some instances, and by the time you realize it you may be waking up in an emerg department....if you wake up

seeing as it is off-season and we dont have much else to yammer on about than good natured bickering a lil story.....I lived an played in the Oakland area for 3 yrs....and had some teammates who were straight gang bangers...or were guys with support of their gangs had got out of the lifestyle to try and make it thru sports...so would come to games...and practices as support so got to meet many....and it's a different world with different politics. 

I would watch guys have total convo's without saying a word but all in sign....and it was extraordinary to say the least. They taught me some lingo but the sight of that, was about the same as the sight of a big white dude trying to cut  the rug on the dance floor....you just dont wanna see that! Went on a couple excursions as a "guest" to a few of the neighborhoods for BBQ's ...to say the least I was scared shitless and I rarely scare

 The culture shock in places like the Deep South, and places like oak town is insane. Really makes you think about what some of these kids go through coming up here. 
 I went through the south slowly, and I was stunned at each point how much more intense it got. I thought nc was deep in it, till I got to alabama and Mississippi.

My daughter was once actively recruited by Mississippi State to play volleyball. 
After much exploration and hard discussion, she declined a full ride scholarship.

back in the day the Ottawa Rough Riders had a fan group called the SouthSiders named after the rowdier "south side" stands.  they were a hoot, good fans to hang out with, and they had some swag.

they really embraced the South thing, with Confederate battle flags, pins that looked like Confederate cavalry badges, "south will rise again" t-shirts and stuff like that. 

This was a decade after the Dukes of Hazzard aired so that stuff seemed like just harmless fun. then I traveled the world a bit and figured out it's pretty ******* serious business to a lot of people. always wondered what southern US football players thought when they looked up in the stands and saw the stars and bars waving to celebrate a big defensive play.  If they cared I hope they just thought we were clueless.

Yeah man. I wouldn’t be comfortable if my kid went to school down there.  I felt like in Alabama things were kind of hidden in a quiet segregation. In Mississippi, it was soo openly divided. It was soo uncomfortable. I have friends and co workers in the Carolina’s and Mississippi is a culture shock for them. I’ve seen some really really bad places, but miss sticks with me on how comfortable, and accepted it is. 
 To quantify it, I do generally like the edges of the south. The food and hospitality is tremendous and it reminds me a lot of here culturally for the most part.

Damn that’s wild. Ott has always had pretty active game day fans but that’s some thing else. 
 Yeah it is, no joke in a lot of places. Going to a couple restaurants between towns with my co worker from nc and I got referred to as a northerner a bunch of times and he’d always just be like oh he’s Canadian. It’s nutty. 
 

I know plenty of guys are numb to it. Others have a us vs them thing with in their own team and fan base.
At the same time that area has seen a big change in the diversity of coaches and modernization of leadership styles. I can’t imagine what it was like in the era of guys like Jim brown.

even parts of Missouri....danger at every corner....make a wrong turn is ST Lois or K.City and you will get a dose of reality...scary

We would recruit guys and train from Cali power houses like Longbeach Poly...Centenial...Inglewood so would get kids from some real bad neighborhoods...good kids but wise beyond their yr's just to survive

and in and around Oakland....Eastmont...P-Laney..Freemont....places the Police avoid if they can for most part

People up here complain about a lot of stuff...conditions of this and that...bad neighborhoods....They havn't seen the half of it...sad part there is so much athletic talent there that just cant get a chance due to circumstance it's crazy...and sad

Placed a lot of young men in JUCO schools there and then onto places like Diablo Valley college...Fresno...Shasta in what is now the Big 8 conference in Cali...working with the  NCSA (Next College Student Athlete) if wondering what that is where help is given creating recruiting profiles...finding right fit...access to the resources that they may not have gotten in the recruiting process from no fault of their own...just their circumstance and actually allows them to access what schools and coaches have actually accessed their profiles...pretty good stuff....something sorley needed up here but lobbying for it and trying to get something started up here basically falls on deaf ears

If "took in all the credit from the fans" is the same as deflected credit to his players staff and fans then carry on.

I thought fans singing, "O'Shea, O'Shea, O'Shea" was pretty cool, actually. From what I saw, he seemed to enjoy that.

Yes particularly if we're talking about the GC parade everyone including Oshea seemed to be enjoying themselves, whether or not they made a big show of it. I for one couldn't stop grinning for weeks straight after our 2019 GC win.
