The Argos cut both Priester and McFadden this season before bringing both back. Mgmt made some questionable choices early on in the secondary, but eventually corrected them. Both guys played in the 2022 Grey Cup; IIRC Priester missed all of 2023 with an injury but McFadden was a regular that season.

I don’t think it was as much questionable, though it was surprising. Injuries played a good role in it, but also giving other guys chances. We did the same. We had karamoko then Cole playing the wil/dime reps that griffin ended up excelling in.
A few people here wanted one or both when we struggled early.

Kornelson somehow spent 6 seasons with the Bisons so he must be pushing 25. I'd be surprised if there is any age restriction for playing in U-Sport as Anthony Bennett was 27 when they drafted him from the Regina Rams.

COVID year eligibility. The u sports are generally much more willing to grant injury exceptions etc as well than the ncaa. Plus it just doesn’t make sense for us college teams to play most kids that old with the availability of young talent every year.

Jake Thomas has not signed yet. Goalie online suicide watch day about 19

Looks like no money left over in the kitty to re-up players after this season, they didn't have much last year either.  Normally Willie would be quick to re-sign after Stanley and Neuf would usually sign 3rd, as it's a quicker process for players who don't use agents.  Jake will drag out the process and sign at the last minute.

History says different.

The last two years Willie re-signed in November while Stan re-upped in January.  Previous to that they both signed new deals in January (Willie was first one year and Stan was first the other).

In Bombers but not Bombers news, Dee Alford had the worst graded game for a CB in NFL history this weekend

First CB to allow a perfect passer rating against, gave up 4 touchdowns on 7 catches on 7 targets

Oh god that was Dee Alford in that clip?

Covering Jefferson is never an easy task, but that was something else entirely.

For a team supposedly circling the calendar for a Grey Cup home game this coming season, we're sure off to a great start this off season. Noeller has kept telling us the past 3 years that This. Is. The. Year. we go all in. Well, Losing Ted Goveia, Buck Pierce & maybe even Danny McManus isn't a great start. Hopefully this doesn't become a bleak off season with management, coaches & player departures. Hopefully, we do have money left over to sign key free agents we want to keep as well as players from other teams. Moral of the story, you win when you can & not just when you want to. Picking a date only works with weddings. I always thought that, "All IN" for 2025 was a dumb theory to begin with.

Losing Goveia & Pierce was just a matter of time.  As far as McManus goes, if Goveia wants to bring him along to Hamilton, he'd have to get permission from the Bombers.  Given the loss of the other two from football ops, I could see the club declining that request this time.

GC was less than a month ago!!!!! WHY HAVEN"T WE SIGNED ALL THE FA YET?!?!?!?!

If we don't sign GENO LEWIS AND MCMANIS BY THE END OF THE MONTH, NEXT YEAR WILL BE A DISASTER!!!!

Yep, it's a bit early to be panicking.  At this time of year, you'll get a few key guys signed (which we have already) and some TCF signed (which we have also done) but most of the signings come in January & February

Compare what we did last year at this time to what we have done so far, it's a very normal start to the off-season. I'd actually say we're ahead of schedule by having 2 key guys (Castillo & Bryant), and another important guy (Jones) already locked up - last year we only really had Willie signed by this point.

2023 signings after GC:

Nov 27 2023: Collin Kornelson, Max Charbonneau, Breton Macdougall, Jonathan Rosery

Dec 7, 2023: Ronnie Blackmon

Dec 11, 2023: Willie Jefferson

Dec 19, 2023: Pat Neufeld

Dec 20: 2023: Tanner Cadwallader, Redha Kramdi

Dec 21: 2023: Deatrick Nichols, Anthony Blue

Dec 22: 2023: Cam Lawson

TSN showed a top 10 football blooper real last night. #1 was the 13th man incident. I usually find it hilarious, but I felt nothing watching it. The last three Grey Cups have broken me, dammit!

they should show Osh face on the sideline near end of last 3 with that smuggy look of buffudlement and disbelief on his mug  his plan didn't pan out....those are all blooper worthy

disagree...  Bombers winning any grey cup is the greatest CFL moment/highlight available... so that covers #1-12 greatest CFL plays of all time... #13 (ironically) would be this moment
