I hope we don’t lose Ayers, he was really coming on strong at the end of the year

I do agree. Ayers might benefit from a bit more muscle and some nfl coaching at the same time. A camp down south would be good for him, but hard to imagine that would be better for us than a sophomore camp. I’d really hate to see him jsk, find his stride and bail.

It seems with the nfl  they look more at the stats like 40 time bench press, size etc than performance on a cfl team. There are lots of cfl lbs that are better than ayers and recievers better than ajou

they’ve really been trending smaller and smaller for wil/sam and de. As much as they look at measurables, the ability to dominate plays ish huge.

Bronco's doing the Giants wide swath look at anyone who had a press clipping or highlight

Not sure what they see/saw in Ajou tho.....Guess he getting the KSB look based on visuals

And with Ford....he not in a good spot age/experience/pedigree wise....also position ......you know how many Ford's are kicking around there...younger....experienced in American ball....he needs to seriously look for the perfect situatuion...and even then....he has huge odds

Right though? Ajou isn’t 10% as good as big kev at any role. And Kevens excels blocking and is good on teams as well.

CFLPA released report cards on each team... Bombers about middle of the pack....

Have to laugh at the football ops & management grades the Riders got.  They let the players get to do whatever the f**k they want and have for years now so it doesn't surprise me that they got good scores in that regard.

Am excerpt from Hodges piece on it....

The Blue Bombers received mostly positive comments but there were multiple complaints about team travel. “Our plane is terrible and falling apart,” wrote one player, while another player claimed the aircraft lacks seating and legroom, adding, “Everybody I know on the team dreads the away games.”

BCs score is a bit surprising. Based on Their money bags owner you'd think they'd have better resources etc....guess he spent too much on concerts

They do know that the end zone plane isnt for flying right. I’m kinda surprised teams have to supply other teams travel. That’s weird.

Honestly our deficiencies are as well. We aren’t doman wealthy but we should be flying in a plane that’s falling apart, struggling with food either.
Tc being bad is not surprising but interesting.

I wonder if that boils down to teams just handing out bad deals vs being frugal.

I think timing also plays a part in the grade.  Things might look a bit rosier in Sask (at the moment) with Mace there vs the end of Dickie's run so they'll get a good grade.

I would have thought the Bombers would have scored bit higher on the management side since we never seem to sign guys to crazy deals an then force them to renegotiate it or be released. They may have to let guys walk if they can't fit them under the cap but at least they seem to be more upfront about it than some. other teams.  I also wouldn't necessarily say we're frugal either (maybe more selective on where we spend or less willing to overpay in FA) since we are at or over the cap most years so the money is being shelled out.

Needs more context IMO.

The 3DN article does a good job of including what went into each category but not necessarily why teams got the grades they got.

Haven’t we done the same thing?

That’s a great point on timing. The fact we lost Ted and haven’t replaced him, and don’t have a top level guy lined up to replace him.

ssks bounce back certainly helps. And I think just the general hype machine that is national media.

That helps (the break down of the categories).

My impression is it's a good start and will likely see some tweaking going forward. Some of thso3 categories feel a bit broad for my liking.

A pretty good report card overall. A few minor things to work out but nothing crazy. Players overall like the atmosphere of the team. A few minor wrinkles to work out but nothing that isn't easily and cheaply remedied.

I'm not surprised by the grade for management. Walters can be a pretty tough cookie in negs.
