Jason Hogan OC

Jarious QB coach

Not sure about Hogan, but he will have a crap load of experience and help with JJ.

who the eff is Hogan....or RB coach who has no experince doing this type of job at even a collegiate level???....and why would Osh say that it wont be a surprise? That is a huge surprise to me....i guess he meant by promoting from within I guess

That section S one was a clown who started **** all the time Although personally I enjoyed him. Why is this such a bad move tho especially with Jackson as a coach.

Because this is a Grey Cup season and I don’t want somebody learning on the fly while his much-more-qualified assistant waits in the wings.

Not the kind of structure I want, this doesn’t feel like the Younger promotion at all.

But with Jackson there you kinda gotta think it’s a team effort instead of just one dude. I dunno. Hogans lack of experience is a concern but Jackson should help there shouldn’t he.

Why is your opinion more important than Brady Oliveiras ? Cuz apparently Brady went to bat for this guy.

Like I said … that’s not the structure I would want. Do you typically let the more qualified people take a background role unless it’s a situation where they’ve got one foot in the grave already or something?

then why not give the reigns to the guy who had the most productive offense last yr and experience doing it at the pro level and let Hogan continue to be part of the "team" learning from him....ass backwards structure

You can read about him here:

Oh wait, no you can't because nobody even remotely considered him as a potential OC given other people available.

shut the eff up.....aRB praising his RUNNIG BACK COACH about being in a better mindset and intilling confidence in him to turn his game around ahs nothing to do with being a qualified and experienced O.C at the prolevel...like get off the tugging dude....

Booch was wondering what jumping the shark meant earlier. I think we are seeing it in real time.

haha...yeah whatever...thats just a horrible hire/promotion/heirachy/structure...whatever you wanna call it.....and doing things backwards....but to each their own I guess....not a shocking move tho

Now, I'm not suggesting a guy with no OC experience at the pro level would get pushed around by Collaros, resulting in an offence tailored to Zach's wants/needs that is similar to or worse than last year's offense...

...oh no wait, I am.

we laughed at the Rider OC hire last yr...who's laughing now

I was going to mention that, especially because there’s one guy in particular in here who loves our hire but **** all over Mueller.

We did it last year on defence and it worked out well

They were laughed at more for being publicly rejected by and bunch of candidates.

how so?..Younger was in total control of the defense....if you didnt notice by scheme and philosophy....not evenclose to the same thing...Hall was just here as a courtesy and to finish out his contract and us not having to eat the cost and let him go

Not even close to the same situation and that was also a multi-year process of Younger working under Hall before taking over.

If we didn't promote Younger to DC, somebody else would have given him that opportunity.  How many other teams do you think would have willing to give Hogan this shot?

And?

If they jumped off a bridge, would you?

St Vital Mustangs possibly

Im willing to give it a chance. There’s obviously going to be a lot of influence from Jarious. I like the way Jarious ran the offense last year and between him and Hogan I think you’ll see the run game be a focal point.

then why not give him the gig??...He arguably was at the helm of one the best...well rounded offences last yr....so have him take a back seat to a guy who has never done it at the pro level....and also havingto integrate a significant amount of new talent into it is just a poor decision....

There is a ton of talent available. Go to the FA listings. Better than what we had? Such as who? Lawler's 800 yards last year? Haba and Garbutt's nothing....what exactly are you concerned about replacing? We effectively swapped Lawler for Schoen....that's a win in my books. Brought in Mitchell for Wilson....saw off....Vaughters for Haba/Garbutt....win for us. What has your **** in a bunch? You are so consumed with the JT resigning that you are not looking at the whole picture imo. It's kind of crazy because the one massive loss we took this offseason in Ford is the one you seem least concerned about.

"swapped Lawler for Schoen....that's a win in my books"....I would have preferred the opposite.

You gotta be really sour to have your mind made up on this being a bad hire.

Keep in mind Buck Pierce hadn't called a play for a PeeWee team before he was given the OC job here.

You've got three experienced CFL coaches leading the offense.  Judgement on Hogan's scheme/play calling can come later.

Buckworked under Lapop for how many years...and was also  common knowledge he had a hand in a lot of the play creation....played the game as well....and had more pro experience as a coach...again...a totally different situ

Big assumptions though.  Hogan was coaching U Sports before Jackson even retired from playing.

Let the initial panic wear off because it's a name you don't recognize.
