MOS is not now, nor will he be, on any sort of hot seat this offseason. I am sure some frank conversations will be had between the trinity this offseason about what they can all do better and what changes need to take place to make that happen. None of those changes will be MOS, nor will his name even come up.

nobody should be safe from criticism and scrutiny....as well as accountability...I can see maybe after 2022....possibly after 2023....not now.....just for the fact it's basically same issues killing us...how long do you put up with that?

I sure with anyone of you who work....you continually mess up....with the same mistakes/issues/oversights...would you keep your job.....i highly doubt it

I don't think he's safe from criticism. But if anyone thinks MOS job is on the line this year they're bananas. Not a chance in hell they move on from the coach with the most wins in franchise history the year they host the cup. Say what you want about him but that's just not going to happen.

Yeah Farhan they dont need permission from BC to speak to a coach who is no longer employed.

Why do I feel like the L's are going to keep being a joke after reading this?  Sideshow Ed is back in town and I love his pitch to free agents - come on down to Edmonton, it's nice here but if we don't like you... well there's 8 other teams for you to play for. 😂

Shouldn’t be. But with mos every thing public is like water off a ducks back any way. If his seat gets nuclear hot at some point he will probably only be mildly annoyed about having to talk about it and him self.
I wonder if Walter’s and wade would even approach him like that. I could see them kinda dealing with it internally between them.  I can’t imagine them going to him and asking why he put zach back in and kept him in or questioning offensive prep and game plan. While they do have a hierarchy, I feel like in reality they work in conjunction with each other to the point the lines are blurred. Pure speculation on my part keep in mind, but it looks like that to me.

I don’t think there is any chance he faces heat this off season either. I think buck is gonna get it all.

He isn’t removed from being criticized, but I do think he’s immune to it. I don’t think he gives two shakes what any of the fans or media think about him.

oof sure looks like it. Just when you thought they were gonna turn it around. Imagine if they go on another long home /losing streak again to start next year.

Rick Campbell may have been relieved of duties, but is still under contract to the Lions as they are responsible to pay his salary. Therefore, it is highly unlikely any team would ever deny permission but technically teams are required to ask.

Nor should he. At the end of the day, none of us here are behind the scenes. The fans are making criticisms based mostly on an incomplete set of information. If we knew every detail of the locker room, medical issues, chemistry of the room etc. we very well may change our opinion on a number of topics that we are soundly criticizing coaching for. That's the bottom line. We pretend to know but we don't.

I agree to an extent. He shouldn’t be held to the fire in the court of public opinion.  The average fan is pretty clueless. I think he should be held accountable. That should come from media, and maybe some of the q n a stuff with season ticket holders at the diner before the year starts.
I mean I can’t handle how dumb many of the questions and comments are at the coaches show. I haven’t been able to stomach it for a while. But for the last two years I don’t even listen to the caller free bit because it’s less than fluff.

Disnt mean canned this yr....but after next...if an epic failure alng the same lines as last 3....and a yr of questionable decisions and bringing back dead weight....basically not learning from past screw ups...and just continuing...then definitely

It's funny how their local media is portraying his re-hire.  They are framing him as a kinder, more mature Ed Hervey but I don't get that vide at all from the 3DN article.  Still seems like like a d**k to me.

For sure, I  just don't buy the spin that he's a new man.  He was part of the decline of the Elks in the first place and his record elsewhere since leaving isn't all that great (21-33 as GM in BC & Hamilton) so expecting different behaviour/results from him might not be realistic.

Have to see how it plays out in Edm. but so far the optics from here are questionably blurry at best.....

Can someone confirm if BC is off teh hook for Campbells salary and article i read somewhere stated they are allowed "one" firing without it affecting front office cap....

The amazing Omar may in BC may be a bit of a meddler it seems.....

It is IMO great to have consistency here for the most part....

I wish MOS would be more forthright because I think it would shut up a lot of the people who criticize. I can also respect why he isn't.

You are allowed relief for one firing every so many years I believe. However, at the end of the day Rick Campbell may have been relieved of duties by BC but his contract is still in place until the end of next season. Now, naturally no team is going to prevent a fired coach from seeking new employment but technically teams do have to ask permission to talk to him. It's a technicality really but so long as Rick Campbell expects them to honor his contract, teams must get permission to talk to him.

EDIT:

Rick Campbell is not under contract for next year. His contract expires Jan.1/2025. Up until that point he is technically under contract with the BC Lions and it would require their permission for others to talk to him which I am sure would be given. Same goes for Neil McEvoy.

Will there be pie? I'm not going unless MOS and Co buy me coffee and pies and answer my questions.

Ehhh you spend that kind of money to go all in when you're hosting the grey cup and lose the semi final after a collapse in season there are consequences.

Doman still made out like a bandit with a 50k+ crowd, maybe he could have drawn another 5k if the Lions were in the game.  Wade would be ecstatic if they could draw a crowd like that.
