I'm more than happy with Wilson backing up Collaros to start the year until Strev is ready. I don't give a shot who the 3rd is (could be a developmental for all I care) and then when Strev is back, everything goes back to normal.

Strev won’t be back.

Just think he’s a cap casualty. Some guys won’t be back. I’m not sure if strevs money could be better spent somewhere else on the roster .  Let’s be real. Dolegala has won games also and is cheaper.

Yes, and Strev isn’t what he was anyway. We don’t need to bring him back just to be an inspirational character.

Signing Streveler prob costs you an every down player. Maybe ford or holm or a guy like that. Holm ford lawler Willie all more important than Streveler. Streveler down the list of priorities. Like prob not top 8 or 10 even in my opinion. Guys ain’t gonna be taking less money. That’s not really a thing. So unfortunately some decisions and tough ones will have to be made and I feel Strev is a tough decision but the right one. But If he’s healthy and willing to compete for the 2QB role then I bring him back on a team friendly back up deal. Win the job. Then we talk. Still young enough to be a solution if they let him be a qb also. It’s just gonna have to be team friendly and after 8 or 10 others have signed.

I have no idea where all this Streveler negativity came from, but it seems to have shown up outta the blue right around playoff time this year. No idea what's driving it... He's costing us next to nothing, cap-wise, and could still be our future starter in 2025.

Why do people all of a sudden think he sucks and is too expensive? Because he blew out every ligament in his knee? Or because Buck and the staff chose to use him as a bulldozer only?

It’s because the backup only plays if Zach is crippled and even then they might play him, and 150k is better spent elsewhere. But me? It’s he’s not a priority. Like I said there’s prob 8 to 10 other guys who I’d sign first. Talk to me after i sign my priority guys and how much I got left to upgrade every down positions first and then backup qb.

That’s for sure. Brown was crazy sketchy first year.
Yeah I love the mix of his tool set. His instincts and tendencies are really pro ready which we don’t see so much up here any more.
Grainger has better upside, but he’s got a Dru brown level journey to being a pro.
Wilson looks one step away from really having some thing.  Ability to read the D, make quick decisions, take some thing off the ball for more touch, and more nuanced things like looking off the D will be big now. I liked how quick he got the ball out too.

He definitely is ahead of many first yr guys...Brown was tentative and skittish..looked like a scared rabbit

If u didn't know better you would think Wilson had a few yrs playing...with reps and schemes built for him we may have something

I also liked in pre season his ability to sprint out and throw on run too...

They'd get better value out of Prukop, knows his job and does it well, allows Wilson a clear path to #2 following Brown's footsteps.

The oc is important with Streveler also. We don’t know who ours is or will be.  He’s down the list.

We have no way to determine how Streveler is or isn't. I would hope that if he is hors de combat, he would be let down gently.

Strev will be back...and 6 games won't even count on cap...he's a key signing as much as many seem to think otherwise...and a new OC will be a godsend to him

I'd like to see him used as more than the 2nd/3rd string guy...utilize his cap hit on teams..in 2 QB offence...in backfield...punt team as Prukopp was used...be ideal for fake punts if he always out there

Groom Wilson as the heir apparent...get 2nd string reps...let Strev run jumbo...stuff on teams and unique offensive schemes...the times buck put the 2 qbs out there it was pointless

Still see a few guys ahead of Strev on the priority list. Maybe with him it’s the peg or nowhere tho. So that’s good to have and with an OC who uses him right, he still could be a bridge to Wilson long term.

Sign Strev for 2 years.

what’s the likelihood of Zach deciding it’s enough tho? Like he retires. Nah. We hosting. This is the final year for Zach coming up likely.

If ZC is gonna be the QB then signing Lawler and Schoen is a priority at whatever cost..he gonna need as many studs around him as possible

Honestly, we need to add atleast one or two premium ol for zach. I think we could lose 1 wr but not two. And this group isnt likely to stay healthy.

If you watched Kyle Walters press conference today you can see Bombers expect Ford to get big offers from other clubs and likelihood of keeping him here seems very uncertain. Would love to see both the Ford brothers in Winnipeg in 2025 but chances are a scenario like that will materialize in a place like Hamilton.

Thing is, strevy made a max of 120 ish K. That is not a lot for a qb, especially one with his amount of experience. You simply aren’t finding many imp QBs cheaper. Dole was on the same type of deal in Sask. fine too. And Schlitz.
Combine that with him sitting for the first 6 games on the ir, that means you’re looking at 80k against the cap.
It’s not likely that swapping him with any of our other back ups to the pr will cost or save us any money. Hes basically a free flyer.

poopkup doesn’t bring any bit of value over any other qb on our roster this year. They can all do the short yardage as easily as can a dozen other guys. He’s got zero chance to develop into any thing else.
He’s less than replacement level at qb in the cfl. You’d have to try and find an imp qb with less value.

qft. If it’s a Paul or buck, value be damned it’s just a waste of time. Other wise, you bring him back on the same kind of deal as a low risk high reward lotto ticket type player.

Oh the Faj...just the continued disrespect lol

I'm sure he will pipe up in the media with some stupid comments...just what he does

It's almost like he's not that good of a quarterback and he only gets chances because teams are desperate...

I need to stock up on popcorn...for when Fajardo signs with the Bombers...

Don't put that idea out into the universe... nobody wants that...
