Booch Posted November 28 Report Posted November 28 (edited) for a scuffling team trying to reset their foundation...and get back to respecrability the important hires are the assistants and the coordinators....any HC who has lousy ones...will fail The HC they hire has to basically be respected, not an a-hole and have ability to lead and inspire...and most importantly...not a dumb idiot......check those boxes and if he can get quality assistants to follow him....he will be ok...as will the team Who were our co-ordinators and assistants in Osh's first 3..4 yrs?....bottom of the barrel rekindled crap....it was only in yr 4 when things were solidified...and stayed that way for years....we suddenly took off.... Yup. how would you build a coaching staff this off season? Top down for me, I’d try to get ac to be hc and oc, then Jy to be dc and ast hc. Ted as gm, Costello as ast oc. Maxie and Greg quick on D. Travis Moore and idk if he’d actually leave western but Greg Marshall on offense as well. People will hate it but I’d get reinebold to coach teams. After that 1 analytics guy, and room left over for extra scouts. Booch and Piggy 1 2
JohnnyAbonny Posted November 28 Report Posted November 28 Not sure if it’s been mentioned, but would anyone be interested in Jarious Jackson as OC? He made a small chicken salad out of a lot of chicken **** this year. I’d like to see what he could do with our offence. Piggy 1 and Mark H. 2

rebusrankin Posted November 29 Report Posted November 29 A career ST coach who just got fired is not who you should be hiring if you've been as bad as Edmonton has. This is Rebus's Straight Fire take of the day. Fatty Liver 1

bigg jay Posted November 29 Report Posted November 29 3 minutes ago, Booch said: dickie trying to save his arse and have nobody in house to take over his mess lol 100%. 3DN has an article up about Charleston Hughes defending the Stamps organization after guys like Ka'Deem roasted them but even he says that those coaches were just fall guys. Don't really buy his "bad blood from ex-players" excuse though because Parades also said the organization has gone downhill in the last 5 years and he's still with the club. Quote "I think Juwan was a casualty. I don’t think he had anything to do with what happened with that team. When it comes to Monson, he’s a great defensive coordinator. He was one of those guys that’s up to be a head coach someday in the CFL. Kilam, he was the assistant head coach in Calgary. I don’t know how that even comes about. Why do you go off and get rid of your next-up guy for the team? I have no clue and I don’t think nobody will understand that one,” he said. "I guess after leaving a situation like that, somebody has to be the fall guy. Those three guys became the fall people in that situation." https://3downnation.com/2024/11/28/charleston-hughes-defends-calgary-stampeders-blames-ex-player-criticism-on-bad-blood/ wbbfan 1

Are all of Edmonton's coaches at the end of their contracts? The management cap allows you to fire 1 guy and not count their salary against the cap. Every other coach would have their guaranteed contract on the cap. Can they do a big reset?
