Ba opened the door. But Strev wasn’t leading us to winning regular season games. How do you think he’d a won that close west final and win the gc?
We could’ve done it with out ba at S. Our dl was tearing teams up.

Wasn't just BA, I specifically said Taylor as well and maston. Jones too. Strev played a bunch in that west final anyway. Collaros didn't do a lot in the grey cup game, given the way the D was playing i feel we could have won without collaros

Collaros provided the much needed threat of a downfield passing game. Bahhhh I've argued this too many times

I'm gonna get flamed for this, but healthy Nichols instead of Zach, we still win that game...

Totally. Nichols put up some good playoff games for this team with bend and break defenses. With the D we put out in the playoffs in 2019 Nichols would have managed the hell out of a Grey cup win.

That 2019 playoff D... that was goooooooooood stuff.

Not at that point in time,  no way in heck.   At that point of his career he was significantly worse then a  Kevin Glenn.

Same healthy Matt Nichols who got booed off the field twice at home in 19? He always played his best in the play offs, but nah captain check down on 2nd down wouldn’t have got past the riders. If he was healthy, and buck was the oc, we’d have a chance of getting to the cup.

That's typical Hervey though.  It was a s**t show the last time he was GM there and he had no control over himself when speaking publicly and it would seem nothing has changed.

The same guys like Ed Hervey just keep getting recycled around the CFL. Why is it written in stone somewhere that Hervey was the most natural fit at GM for the Elks? Instead of trying to relive some past glories by hiring these washed up names from the past, Maybe the Elks should have concentrated on hiring the best possible people to run their team. Instead of hoping to relive past glories. Hervey was fired once for being a hotheaded asshat & nothing has changed.

Totally agree in the Cup, we win with Nichols.

I don't think we get there with him though.

This is fair tho I'm not sure I 100% agree... But definitely a fair take.

When check downs put the ball in the hands of Andrew Harris every second play and you have Medlock kicking FG's from midfield in with accuracy, you're in a good place.

Correct. 2017 Nichols maybe but 2019 Nichols was a shell of his former self. Zach pumped life into the Bombers going into the playoffs. Coming from behind to beat Calgary in the season finale gave the team confidence we could beat them again when it mattered, because at that time the stamps were the Bombers of the CFL and we often came up short against them but in big games up to that point.

I don't know why we keep having this discussion... 2019 Matt Nichols was outstanding until he got blindside pancaked after the whistle. We were 6-2 under him and he gets hurt in the 7th win in Week 10 which put us at 7-2. He was having an incredible season before he got hurt.

Also... This man continues to be absolute loony tunes.

He also said he could play for another 20 years. Completely delusional.

The word "good" is noticeably missing from his sentence/

So I actually read a thing on this recently... essentially other apes can engage more large muscle groups at once making them stronger... however the cost compared to home sapiens is they can't hold a pencil or as the author put it "brain someone with a rock from distance" so as crazy as he is, he's not totally wrong.

But not a grey cup ring wearing place.

This is a very interesting point. I think you’re right.

Absolutely nothing illegal about that hit... Nichols was holding the ball... just an unfortunate result.

(approx 6:15 if this doesn't cue up properly)

I'm not sure he meant it was an illegal hit. He was blindsided technically as he didn't/couldn't see it coming and then was pancaked.
