Not arguing that point. I don't have access to that information. All I can argue is that Garbutt being let go is not an unreasonable move. I don't see it as anything more than we let a meh player go. You want to read other things into it...have at it. I honestly believe he got passed on the DC last year by a better player and then we brought in a vet at the same position. We really didn't have room for him anymore.

Who are you referring to, Haba?  Garbutt couldn't ask for a better opportunity to establish himself as a starter, the job was wide open with no incumbent in sight and minimal competition in his way.  No longer the case, Vaughters will probably be given the starters job.

no...not a catostrophic loss...but again now...we starting at ground zero with a new guy to use in rotation...Yeah we signed Vaughters which should bode well....but depth wise right now with experienced ends...we are worse off

And currently...at DT we are worse off...not sure what's left in the upcoming FA period to shore that up but I see nothing

Maybe this guy is the Person who you have been pumping up since last season.

Agree on DT. Hope the scouts can bring in some gems.

and who passed him on the depth chart last yr?....WJ?...as it def wasnt Haba....and there was............absolutely fackall else....Thomas and Schmeck never passed Fox..Adams or Woods....yet they are back....and should in no way be taking reps away from Lawson

We have an extremely poor roster makeup...have had a bad one 3 yrs running now

be nice tho we had a second yr guy at minimum to backup and rotate with Vaughters and Person's....if its him....when we were successful upfront it was because we had a group of 4 ends...who could play multiple techniques and play inside as well off the edge....we haven't had that in yrs...and the results show

If people hadn't noticed...we used JT as an end...Jake Thomas....let that sink in...and guess what...he's back

Garbutt definitely showed some flashes... but not enough consistency... I don't think he'll be a major loss

Not at all explosive.

To me, I'm bringing in and discarding American rush ends and WIL backers until I find someone special.  These are really the two simplest spots on the field.  Do the same job everytime, beat your opponent and flow to the ball.  If you're not at all explosive, sayonara.

Really no need to settle on a handful of guys who are not at all special.  If you're waiting on guys to be good you'll be developing them just in time to see them sign with your rivals.

I personally am glad to see some of these mediocre talents not resigned by us. We've seen so much of that over the past few years. Guys brought back out of familiarity really.

I agree with you on JT and Wilson. Not sure why they're still here. Still glad to see other scrubs shown the door tho.

i'M sure he will do well there with your coaching and how you utilize a dline rotation...history the last several yrs has shown so

He's still young and may benefit from a change of scenery.

He'll be in tough in camp though. We've lost quite a few D-Linemen but several others have already been added to the pipeline. Looks to be an open competition.

Man, Booch … I gotta say lol you’ve lost me so far this off-season

You’re literally letting JT and Kyrie dictate your mood on every move we make and it’s showing BIG TIME

”for such a preferred destination we sure are missing on guys” lol you know we can’t sign everyone right? and not every signing is an “at all costs” signing … who’s to say there hasn’t been interest in some guys and then our FO says “oh, at that price? No thanks”

just relax sheesh

Could be solid if he can stay healthy. Has had some straight up bad luck in that area.

Three year deal isn't something you see too often these days in the CFL especially for a LB/DB.

Yep.

And I don't think DB is where we should spend money. Sam or other wise. With ford gone, we flip the ratio back, start griffin and find a new rotational dime to take the place of our wil.

Kenny Lawler reportedly offered $250k by Calgary.

Did he not leave in 2022 only to immediately say the grass isn’t greener and he shouldn’t have chased the bag?

I’m all about guys getting paid but it would be hard to pity him if he hates it in Calgary.

any news on Dobson?

Nothing yet, but the OL signings as a whole have been pretty quiet so far.

Ryan Hunter re-upped with Toronto today, possible that’ll get the market moving.

After hearing everything that had been said about Cgy since the season ended, you gotta think guys would need to take huge raises to go there. 250k should keep him a Bomber. I don't love that number for a wr.....but I do love that number to keep him away from a west div team.
