There’s gonna be a starter without a starting job this year, I prob wouldn’t touch faj and I expect he would stay east but just saying a starting QB this year will be likely backing up next year. Wouldn’t be the worst thing to have. Maybe I’d go mbt and his ancestors over Fajardo tho.

Yep, not sure why they'd bring him back, I guess it's the security he brings backing up Zach.

should be an open competition with whomever they bring to camp....best man wins......as with all positions mind you.....something we have gotten away from here....hence the sliiiiiiiidde

Thanks.  The list 3DN has up shows him as a pending FA - not the first time they would be wrong but usually those lists are provided by the club so I wonder if that was an error or a recent update?

So much security they put went with a rookie over him in the biggest game of the year.  Really don't get why he was here or why he's being brought back.

I'd take Mclkeod Goofy Thompson her as the back-up tothe starter....let Wilson continue with jumbo and have some set packages for him to evolve with over the yr.....and actually run him out there...as opposed to how we generally do it and not let the backups get any meaningful reps.....seeing how well that served us this Grey Cup

I bet we had MBT at QB in Grey Cup we would have won

which should make people not put much faith into...or belief in this rhetoric Osh feeds us that "they all number ones"..."they are on roster cause they give us a chance to win games"..." they in the building because we like them".....yap yap yap.....if he truly believed it himself he wouldn't run out aged vets....hurt guys.....guys who shouldn't even be dressed....obviously he doesn't believe it, or he would use back-ups....and healthy young guys

It’s late in the 2025 Grey Cup. Winnipeg is trailing by 5 late in the 4th. Cody Fajardo comes in for an injured Collaros and leads a game winning TD drive. Winnipeg fans are unable to celebrate a home Grey Cup win because all of their heads have exploded.

Farj hands the cup to grey cup MVP Jake Thomas after his 4 sack performance!

I think Hodge got his list from the league.

Ed Tait got his list from the Bombers and he said Dolegala wasn't on it.

As well, Tait indicated Nic Taylor is a pending FA but he isn't on Hodge's list.

Don’t think it matters either way. If we want the dole in camp, and it sure seems like we do, he will be in camp. We aren’t gonna see some crazy run on his services either way.

I worry a bit that we might go into camp next year stagnant at qb. Don’t see us bringing 5-6 guys in camp even with 1 on crutches.
May well be zach, dole, Wilson, granger and strevy with a clipboard.

This made me physically ill.

I'm guessing the next step is who Edmonton decides to go forward with?    Once that's decided then the remaining QB's will be taking pay cuts to be veteran back ups around the league.

I'm curious on what happens with Strev and if he stays with us next season?

It's a poor situation for Streveler. He didn't get a lot of chances to play before getting hurt and will he be ready to start the year? Doubtful... and then you're potentially looking at some options like faj or mbt or maier McCheese being out there as veterans.

If  I have to pick one it's MBT.  He's durable... he's nutty... but he at least can throw the damn ball down the field.  I'd rather take my chances in a nutbar who can give our receivers the chance to make a play over a hamburger fatty who sits in the pocket or a prancing prima donna who spins in the pocket and can't throw deep for $hite.

That’s gotta be it. Mbt might draw out his decision to see if he gets a qb1 shot.

I’d hope Wilson evolves enough to be QB2. If not I’d be cool with an open competition between Fajardo/MBT and Dole Banana for the vet backup spot.

Really like his upside. Needs a good step forward and idk if camp and pre season is enough to cement that step. But it’d be great if he did.

Nothing yet, VA has a bonus of $200k due Jan. 1st, that's why Rigmaiden was anxious to move him fast.

I like what I've seen in limited action...showed more than Brown his first yr

He seems to have poise and comfort in pocket to stick in there and let a route develop...definitely has the arm to make any throw too....and is mobile...now we just have to have the right people work with him and develop it. We did it before with Brown so we can do it.

If he is allowed to get play time this yr coming up...real play time...he is gonna be way ahead of where Brown was going into yr 3.

MBT would end up swinging with O'Shea, better Masoli, way more chill guy who won't get upset if he never plays and can trick Zach into smoking weed with him before important playoff games, so he can realize his best self.

That’s for sure. Brown was crazy sketchy first year.
Yeah I love the mix of his tool set. His instincts and tendencies are really pro ready which we don’t see so much up here any more.
Grainger has better upside, but he’s got a Dru brown level journey to being a pro.
Wilson looks one step away from really having some thing.  Ability to read the D, make quick decisions, take some thing off the ball for more touch, and more nuanced things like looking off the D will be big now. I liked how quick he got the ball out too.
