I feel we gonna take some FA hits also. Not sure why. It’s just a feeling.

Because at least one of our coaches left and our Assistant GM?

How much of that is him and how much is MOS favouring vets?

They did add Schoen, Holm, Bonds, Wilson, Ayers in the past few seasons.

I think we would be naive not to think at least a few guys follow Buck to BC....We all know Omar isn't afraid to disregard the cap to get the guys he wants.

??....Goveia has been almost primarily our NAT scout and he's done a pretty darn good job at it.  However, there has been nothing meh about the talent we've brought in as IMPs either. We have gotten excellent, far above average scouting from our team. This has allowed us to stay at the top of the pile in the CFL for many years now. I understand that many guys here are upset that we lost 3 winner take all games, but it is has gone full on bananas with people discounting entire seasons we have either led the CFL or finished 1st in the West. That kind of sustainability is exceedingly difficult, and is the work of excellent recruitment, management, and coaching. It is bizarre to suggest otherwise. Some fans here need to eat some humble pie. This is not Saskatchewan for cripes sakes, we are the envy of the league.

I agree with you for the most part but we've definitely seen some meh talent here (see Damien Jackson).

I think it's all about how good one's batting average is, and in this case, pretty good.

Agreed - just pointing out that it wasn't all homeruns.  There are other examples too (Josh Johnson) but the bigger issue with those guys is the fact they were wasting active roster spots which has nothing to do with scouting.

You are equating us keeping sub par talent with us finding sub par talent. Not the same thing. There isn't a team in the history of football that hasn't brought in TCF in order to fill out a TC. The ONLY problem I have with our recruitment of Jackson was the fact that for some reason we kept him.

Bombers taking some hits. To be expected. Although you’d think reading the comments we absolutely ******* suck but guess not.

When you are the class of the league every team is going to try peel off a slice. Such is life at the top of the pile.

We have turned over a crap load of starting positions in the past few years. One just needs to look at our roster from 2019 to now to see. A select few vets have been favored, most have definitely earned their spots year after year, but many have been allowed to walk or shown the door as well. I don't think MOS shows any more favoritism to vets than any other coach in the CFL. Newsflash: HCs don't like to add any more rookies than they absolutely have to in order to field a roster. That is a professional football HCing rule of thumb.

But even so, the last 2 years have tipped the balance a bit too much.

Shitty about Goeveia but it was overdue. Shitty to lose start finally losing people in a GC hosting year. Very curious who steps up... I assume that Cyril guy gets the promotion.

Walters for now, he's done Natl. scouting before and is really good at it, he'll probably pull someone up from U-Sports to assist him or maybe pick up Eric Deslauriers the Natl. scout the Als dropped a few weeks ago.
