Yea it’s definitely not a stretch to say that the majority of you weren’t huge on Dobson last season. As the 6th OL he seemed like a brawler with a whole lot of nasty to him, I thought he’d be more effective as a starter.

Wallace is gonna be that guy...just oozes mid 90's guard monster brawler....High hopes with that one

Stevens might be considered a vet running back but that's about it.  He's thrown all of 20 passes in 3 years compared to 160 carries.

Yea....he's Strev without the ability to do anything but short yardage. Honestly, he must have come dirt cheap or I would have been talking to Streveler.

Honestly, I felt that Dobson was the most over rated OL in the CFL last year and I don't really feel all that bad about him leaving. This isn't sour grapes either, I have openly questioned his abilities consistently over the past year. Watched him consistently get beaten badly like a rented mule every time he went up against an elite DT. The apologists here blamed it on Kolo, and they were partially right but WAAAAAY too many times he just got straight up manhandled one on one and you can't blame that on the centre. Good riddance.

Yeah wasn’t Dobson somehow named an all star? I thought he was our weakest link by far, more in the Kolo category rather than an actual all star. Really probably  boarderline starter in my opinion. Oh well.

Unless we legalize the tush push!

That would mean more playing time for Jake Thomas, Booch 🤣

Honestly we allow it in certain circumstances already. Down field when a scrum forms, and in the red zone it happens frequently. Most red zone sneaks that don’t go up the middle end up being tush push.
And I say that knowing full well we have been the biggest offender when it comes to down field scrums.

Yea....he was a real head scratcher as an all star. Maybe had more to do with the fact that there was a real shortage of quality at his position last year. Literally musical chairs across the whole West division at OG.

Me too, and if he's not quite there yet I am VERY comfortable with Randolph doing his thing.

He was excellent after 4 ish games or so. He’s a strong starter, but he lacks the consistency. And at that he hasn’t shown nearly enough road grader mentality. If his first punch move doesn’t pancake a guy he just kinda leans. He’s good at reading a guys lean then striking them off balance, but guys with a strong base just aren’t unbalanced much at the pro level.

He was not excellent against any team with a good DL. He got matadored badly all season long against the Ceresnas etc of the CFL.

That Tush Push reminds me of peewee football as in that's the primary play one team would call all the way down the field cuz they had huge 11 year olds with beards. 🙂

he's a different player...more of a Sheed but better big play ability

Hopefully Mitchell takes that step up now in the Lawleresque type role...he definately has the skills....better speed....His head wasnt in it in 2023....kinda turned the corner again last yr....if his head isnt into here....then he wont last into 2026

IF Mitchell  reverts back to his former self as a respected receiver in this league, then that's one positive ..We're gonna miss Kenny and Woli when the going gets tough and we need a guy with the special talent of making a circus catch....Demski is still very dependable but we have to come up with a guy to spread the field...I hope Clercius has a fantastic year and he could be that guy....Not that speedy but solid with good hands

Better not be if lapo is the oc. Lapo get Masoli, strev with any one else is fine.

maybe Lapo has wisened up?...Lapo had him actually at the start playing QB so he knows he can do it...Buck never at all let him be a QB and the one game he started  basically rode him into the dirt and it affected him all yr until he got hurt

Randolph is a tackle, he should swap with Lofton who isn’t a T. But Wallace is key. If he takes a step forward, he will easily pass where Dobson was last year.

Honestly we won’t be going 3 imp ol now. We are kinda looking locked in on nis now.
I’d still love to see Wallace get a pre season game at rt. If he continued to lose weight this off season he should be more than mobile enough.

yup....loss for sure....and we gonna be going into 2025 with a significantly weaker receiving group than last...regardless of who we sign "vet" wise in FA if we even do now seeing as Rhymes is headed to Cgy now...

What's the big secret about our Buck replacement.....cripes announce the guy already

He was, Toronto beat us still inside out across the board. Toronto also doesn’t use heads up rushes on the line. Which is why they destroyed all our ol men with every dl they threw out on the field.

I can find hope that he improved his ability to improve red zone play call, check downs, and maybe the abundance of out think himself plays/constant trick plays. But I don’t think he will have figured out how to use a mobile qb with out having run an offence with one.
Dare or dream but that’s a worst case combination imo.

So the strategy seems to be to wait until other teams are done and then pick through what’s left over?

I believe our strategy is that we cant improve the team enough with what star players we can afford, so instead of chasing top guys to replace ford/lawler, we are chasing our weakest import positions to improve the weakest chains instead of adding new strongest chains.

pretty much.....Not sure how/where we addressed the dline...If Vaughters is it...man we got schooled in FA....Nothing left now unless you wanna go Woody Barron...Oakman...Lanier....that Albright in Sask is intruiging but other than that now just a collection of scrubs...hope to hell this new scouting staff has it's game face on....as we need some legit talent that can play
