Still a massive downgrade from Vernon Adams though....   it is a decent veteran back up option if he comes cheap.

Vaj as a back up isn't sustainable but yeah. I think masoli is a better guy as a game manager, and extra coach to help rourke too.

Masoli can now tear his acl indoors.

....risky move considering his injury propensity....they may have to keep tabs on the Redblacks '12 qb stable' real close....as a just in case he comes up lame

.......so is Sean Mcewan still available considering Dobson has officially flown the coop

My ideal news would be Mc Ewen, Oakman and BOLO.....at least think all three are still available....On reasonable contracts, none of them are worth an overpay for...but I always want to add to both the O-line and D-line

O-line Mc Ewen is really good, probably a bit pricey but.....I believe he would upgrade our line

Oakman...yes partially blinded by his size and athletic ability...but I can picture Vaughters, Willy and Oakman on at the same time, Willy and Oakman both have insane athletic talents...I could see them dominating id Oakman is invested..and he shouldn't be too high of a salary

BOLO...I think he fits well here a rotational piece with experience to compliment Celercius, and fill in when Demski is knicked....

The Alouettes make the addition of Shawn Oakman official. A Justin Dunk report is money in the bank.

The Hamilton Tiger-Cats have re-signed Canadian receiver Brendan O’Leary-Orange, who posted a career-high 335 yards after joining the team last season.

Well.........Not my ideal news....lol.....

Nothing from us other than the agreements we already knew. Pretty much a huge letdown.

What did you expect. It seems like perhaps your expectations were the problem. Everything the bombers do is a huge let down to a few of you so again, outside of doing exactly what you want them to (it’s not gonna happen) what can they do where don’t actually complain always. Just curious cuz seems it don’t matter what they do, you had a few others always complain. I mean I wouldn’t listen to ppl who are never satisfied with anything. Why would the bombers.

I dunno, I guess we fans that can see the areas that need addressing keep waiting for Walters to do something & he never does. What did I expect? I expected we'd improve our DL. I expected Jake Thomas would never be back. So, he comes back & they release Wolitarski. I expected we'd improve our OL. I expected that we'd be all in to try to win the GC at home this season. We haven't improved. Anyone who thinks we have in relation to other teams is naive. We've stepped back. Other than Logan, our FA acquisitions have been middling & really haven't addressed any needs. And yes, the Riders could win the GC here at our house. There I said it. So throw stones at me.

He usually mixes in at least one sentence that doesn’t even make factual sense. Next time try including “ARGH FREE AGENCY BEEN OPEN FOR A MONTH I GUESS THEY JUST DONT WANT TO SIGN ANYONE EXCEPT RICKY WHITE JR”

It has been a less than ideal FA period this year so far, but the nice thing is that it is only February. Lots of time to make hay, and we should have the money to do it. Like the year Bighill fell into our lap late in the offseason, I am hoping for a big impact signing like that out of nowhere. Maybe it doesn't happen, but until TC opens we don't know what our team is for sure.

With the exception of Logan, a lot of the signings announced yesterday feel like getting a bunch of Christmas presents that are nothing but socks and underwear.

Yea....I'm not going to crap on what we did sign. Some quality depth pieces there. However, we do need a few pieces for sure to round things out.

I think Walters may have set expectations higher than normal by saying they'd be more active this year.  It hasn't really worked out that way - at least as far as big name FA's are concerned.
