yeah...kinda agree...for a GM who said had money to spend...I just dont see where we went and did something exponentially better than what we had ...I like Mitchell if he meets that potential....and Jones was very very solid...and Logan I think may be our most impactful pick up....other than than....a lot of ...meh...whatev's signings and some that need a question mark answered to be considered a solid pick up....Gonna put a lot of hope in that our new scouting dept brings in some gems...we have access now to a different pipeline and connection base, so hopefully it reaps rewards

We did add by subtraction in a couple areas but that wasn't contingent on FA really.

To me, a lot of the signings (like Mitchell or White) are "might turn out well, might not". Vaughters should be an upgrade at DE too but he had a down year last year so we'll see.

Technically he has been more active this year, because he didn't even answer his phone during the previous two FA periods.

I saw that the Argos offered Ceresna $275k ($150k upfront) and he turned it down. Appears Edmonton was the only option.

I heard his wife is from the Edmonton area. Edmonton was the team to bring him to the cfl also weren’t they so it does appear all signs pointing to Edmonton there the whole time.

He pretty much said it was on Edmonton radio a few days ago. He was taking his wife home.

In fairness most teams this year have not signed "big time players" outside the two teams who were the worst last year.    

I assume teams like Toronto have faith in the ability to recruit rather then blow the money on free agents.

McEwen would have been a nice get. We need a NAT OL. Dobson is no loss to our starting calibre of play but hurts our depth because Wallace will be a starter now.

Perhaps we got better by subtracting a few players and maybe the OC from the roster. Really disappointing season for buck and the O last year with all the high priced guys so I think the change there is actually going to be a good thing. The D was good last year, they may not have played the style some would prefer but they gave up the least amount of points in the league by a wide margin.  Ford is good and a loss but reality is demario Houston played there a couple years ago and then got paid and I see released now.  Was it ford or is it the spot on the field he played ? Both probably but I’m ok with letting him go for 230k and I’d honestly consider him the biggest loss because he played more games than a Kenny lawler. 
 

I like the idea of potentially 3 US oline or Wallace stepping up and taking a guard spot. With the Logan signing I’m hopefully we see more of a smash mouth ball control O instead of the throw in to triple coverage to lawler. Brady and Logan could seriously own teams together. I like that. Are we better?  All in all I think change was needed in certain spots and I think those changes in the end will determine if we are better or not. Time will tell. CFL is weird tho, cuz usually the teams who spend in free agency, it don’t work out for them. I mean not the last 5 years atleast cuz this is our most active free agency in years.

Yep, she's from the area and continued to work there, even after he left the Elks so it's a much easier family life being in the same city.

Not to pump his tires in anyway shape or form but Houston was only released because of his recent legal issues.  I do agree though that both guys gained from the position they were playing, to some degree.
