What was Singh saying this is a "franchise record"?

Jets 1.0 had a nine game winning streak (and combining the playoffs, a 15 game undefeated streak) back in 1984-85, but for the Thrashers/Jets2.0 franchise, 9 is the record. They had 8 to open this season and 8 to close last season (technically a 16 game win streak spanning two seasons, but the league does not regard that as one streak) and another 7 gamer this year.

To make matters somewhat confusing, they had 16 consecutive wins from end of last season(8) to start of this season(8).

If you don’t count playoffs so that one I understand why it’s not counted.
