Jets salt away their 11th straight win with Scheifele’s empty netter. Honestly, not their best performance tonight, got caught running around on their d zone at times, missed offensive opportunities despite Ottawa giving them a bunch of odd man rushes. And the power play has suddenly gone cold. But a workmanlike 3rd period limiting shots. Hopefully this non-taxing game gives them a better shot tomorrow against the banner boys.

I am a little concerned about the power play.  It's gone 0-12 lately and they add a five on three advantage tonight.

Faceoffs win percentages need to be cleaned up as well especially in close games and as we approach post season.

The good news is this team is finding ways to win games in a variety of ways. Just focus one game at a time, improving this here, that there, try to stay healthy clinch a playoff berth as the next goal and then focus on next immediate goal from there.

In enjoying this while it lasts.

Yeah, the face offs have been a concern of mine for ages.  I wish someone would ask the coaches what, if anything, they’re doing to improve their numbers.  Maybe bring in a face off guru?

I just hope that at the trade deadline we don't make moves that will compromise our team speed like last year. Monahan and Toffoli, while good players, brought down our ability to roll 4 lines that play with speed. That is key to our success thus far this year, and will be in the playoffs.

The way professional sport is so specialized nowadays another option is to trade for a face-off specialist that will just be his primary role.
