Hopefully a bounce back game tonight.  I really, really don’t like the 3rd line being reunited… Specifically Appleton.  But I’m not paid to make those decisions and I knew it would happen, so no surprise.

Here we go again.  Another brutal goal given up by Bucky.  The second goal was also weak and I argue that Hyman actually touched Bucky when he entered the crease.

The Magic 8 Ball said “no interference”.

I dont think Helle was even looking at the puck but hey all is forgotten if we win.

He was screened. Couldn’t see a thing. But needed to close that five hole with his pads cuz the his stick was unavailable.

You love to see Tanev get rewarded. Dude hustles. Entire 4th line are work horses. They all bring it.

I actually think that fourth line it will be kind of a secret weapon in the playoffs.    Top line is lethargic and 3rd line is on life support.   If we can get all 4 lines rolling we'll be dangerous

Jets can't afford to be lazy right now

And I have to figure out a way to stay up late for Jets games, I was starting to check out around 9:30, it doesn't help that I was up since around 5 for a doctors appointment that wasn't supposed to happen til the next day (oh well it's good that I got it over with)

Hopefully the clinch early a bit and can rest some guys the last 3 or 4 games. Think KC and Scheifele are still alright, KC won the game, Vilardi tho has gone quiet. Nino and Apples are struggling but Nino showed some life last game setting up Morrissey. Maybe put Vilardi with Lowry and Nino with KC and 55 cuz lines 2 and 4 are fine. Better to struggle a bit now but they won 2 of 3 on the trip and I’m not sure we talking about line 1 if the van goalie doesn’t make saves he normally does. PK improved. Powerplay a bit iffy but Vilardi struggling. Helle has looked off since the 4 nations. Apparently that’s a common theme in the league. Clinch then rest him. Get Winnipeg guy Driedger a game with the Jets even. Helle overplayed but when it mattered most he made the saves still. So yeah I dunno. Not as dominating recently as normal I guess??? But still winning more often than not. 100 points with 12 13 to go. Probably should enjoy the ride. This is pretty crazy for a Winnipeg nhl team to do. Yes they need to win in the playoffs. But playoffs are still a month away.

Helle's ability to be successful in the playoffs will depend entirely on our ability to keep the front of the net clear. Last year that Oak tree Russian just camped out right on top of him all playoffs and we couldn't move him. A goalie has to be able to see the puck in order to stop it. Nonsense that Helle isn't a playoff goalie, last year we got beat by Colorado's speed and physicality in the slot. Blaming Helle for that is not fair.

Interesting perspective, but then why all the narrative around goaltenders stealing games?   I was a hardcore Senators fan and I remember the series against Laff Nation in 2004 (yes I am old).  Game 7 in Toronto.  Patrick Lalime let in 2 soft goals and before you knew it  it was 3-0 and the Sens eventually lost the game.   There is nothing the Sens team could have done to make up for that clusterfuck from Lalime.

Looking back to Game 1 last year against the Avs, Helle let in 6 goals.   But most times, he was able to see the puck.  I would argue 4 of those goals came from clear sightlines.   We were fortunate that the Jets offence was on fire, and Gorgiev was also just as brutal.

Even in game 2,   Helle makes a disastrous play to giveaway the puck that puts the Avs up 3-2.    Then with 10 secs to go, there's a breakaway given to Josh Manson , who is not a sniper, and it's 4-2 avs.    I would have argued that Helle should have stopped Manson.

Anyways, I really hope we make some noise int he playoffs.   This is OUR YEAR!

I think in the Vancouver game he should have stopped 1 of the 5 he let in. The others not much chance.

Colorado last year just adjusted and quite frankly we didn’t. I don’t think that would be a problem with Arniel who has shown he’s pretty quick to recognize when change is needed.

schenn tho is here for a reason. Why? Big body who helps clear the net.

nino and apples need to get going. It’s one thing to not score but to be minus players the last 25 games now isn’t good.

What doesn’t make sense to me is how can one be a hardcore fan of one team than move to another team?

Does not compute. :)
