Mr Dee Posted October 23, 2013 Report Posted October 23, 2013 Of course, what else? Bob Irving @BobIrvingCJOB2h Mike sims walker out with knee injury. Aaron kelley takes over vs argos thursday
iso_55 Posted October 23, 2013 Report Posted October 23, 2013 As I said on the News Feed.... That kind of a season. Very disappointing.
gbill2004 Posted October 23, 2013 Report Posted October 23, 2013 The conspiracy theorist in me thinks he's fine and the Bombers are shutting him down so he doesn't explode again, resulting in us having to protect him in the expansion draft.
Mr Dee Posted October 23, 2013 Author Report Posted October 23, 2013 The conspiracy theorist in me thinks he's fine and the Bombers are shutting him down so he doesn't explode again, resulting in us having to protect him in the expansion draft. I don't know, that would require creative thinking.

That's true, although i think he would have had him in a Sims-Walker-boot for total effectiveness.
johnzo Posted October 23, 2013 Report Posted October 23, 2013 okay, this season is no longer mere tragedy, it's now gone all the way to comedy.
iso_55 Posted October 23, 2013 Report Posted October 23, 2013 Think the Bombers would be that desperate to do that?
gbill2004 Posted October 23, 2013 Report Posted October 23, 2013 Think the Bombers would be that desperate to do that? Not sure, but if I were GM I'd consider doing stuff like that.
The Unknown Poster Posted October 23, 2013 Report Posted October 23, 2013 Is this guy a threat to be selected?
gbill2004 Posted October 23, 2013 Report Posted October 23, 2013 Is this guy a threat to be selected? Absolutely. Several teams wanted him when he came to the CFL, but Bombers held his neg rights.
SPuDS Posted October 23, 2013 Report Posted October 23, 2013 meh. id be protecting him regardless at this point... so I doubt its due to any deviousness..
Blueandgold Posted October 23, 2013 Report Posted October 23, 2013 Aaron Kelly drawing back into the lineup isn't the worst thing in the world.
CodyT Posted October 23, 2013 Report Posted October 23, 2013 Complete speculation but is it possible that they know Sims-Walker wont be returning next year? Is that a dumb comment to make? I read some of his twitter posts a while back and he seemed to miss home. He must have made a pretty penny playing in the NFL, is the CFL really worth his time? He is getting old to be in the NFL and has had major knee injuries quite a few times... No doubt he's a real talent and I loved watching him play the other day. Could really see the NFL quality...

You could literally say that about any import.....
gbill2004 Posted October 23, 2013 Report Posted October 23, 2013 When he came here he made it clear that it wasn't about the money, he just loves playing football.
The Unknown Poster Posted October 23, 2013 Report Posted October 23, 2013 He does miss home but who doesn't? He seems to like Winnipeg though not the cold. He has stayed money isn't an issue. Hopefully he comes into camp next year and tears it up. He might like Winnipeg a bit more In June and July.
Logan007 Posted October 23, 2013 Report Posted October 23, 2013 When he came here he made it clear that it wasn't about the money, he just loves playing football. And that's what most real football players care about. It's about the money, but their wanting to just play...and of course win...is huge. Most players have to be torn away by injury or something till it finally kicks in that they need to stop playing. It's addictive to most athletes.

Brandon Posted October 23, 2013 Report Posted October 23, 2013 Most NFL players are broke within 5 years of playing pro football. He could be short on cash.
kelownabomberfan Posted October 23, 2013 Report Posted October 23, 2013 Most NFL players are broke within 5 years of playing pro football. He could be short on cash. The ones like Terrell Owens with 3 ex-wives are broke within one year. They adjust their cost of living to their current cash flow and never think that those days are going to end. Happens to movie stars too. Dave Foley from Kids in the Hall lives in poverty in LA while his ex-wife is sitting in their multi-million dollar condo in Toronto.
Blueandgold Posted October 24, 2013 Report Posted October 24, 2013 Most NFL players are broke within 5 years of playing pro football. He could be short on cash. And he wasn't exactly an NFL superstar. He had a couple of decent years but he was never on a big money contract.
Jpan85 Posted October 24, 2013 Report Posted October 24, 2013 He got 3.7 million on his last contract with the Rams.
