When are these police departments going to be trained properly in positional asphyxiation?  How many people need to die before macho cops get a clue

Really, this unbelievable. And his partner? He can’t get involved?

Well they were fired.  Charges likely coming.

But there is the rigid rule that one cop never, ever says or does anything to interfere or contradict another, even in court under oath.

For sure.  I had an experience where that actually led to some trouble.  And I was able to prove via the use of video  that no one knew was there that two cops lied on a police report (to back up one of them).  It takes some doing but if you press the issue you can find a cop willing to do the right thing. In this case they even hid the video when they got it and refused to turn over their analysis.

it was LERA that actually got the two cops in a room where they swore by their statements.  When the one cop was alone he reluctantly admitted he couldn’t be sure his report was accurate. And that was the game. He wasn’t willing to face discipline for his lying partner. But was willing to lie until he had literally no choice.

Most cops would probably tell you they want bad cops gone.  But if they say anything they risk being ostracized And there are a lot of cops who are bad but think they’re good.  Aggressive.

The great majority of police are good people but they are constrained by the culture they work in, just like most of us. Their well-being and sometimes even survival depends on mutual support but often that leads to complicity by silence.

Lost her dog and maybe her job now.

She did lose her job but she got the dog back. The shelter didn't want to but were told they legally had to do it.
